Was in Reims to visit the champagne caves. Although the hotel is a long walk to the caves, it was very close to the train station and located in a very lively centre ville with numerous restaurant and bar options. The room was very basic and clean, which suited us just fine. If you are looking for luxury or a romantic get away, I would recommend staying elsewhere. But, if you are looking for an economical hotel for a quick trip to Reims, this is perfect.

Good location and convenient parking garage for a fee, but the breakfast was way overpriced, the service was crabby, and the rooms were not clean. The bathrooms were nice and the receptionists were friendly.

The economical, four-floor Grand Hotel Du Nord is housed within a red-roofed townhouse located on a leafy pedestrian square in the centre of Reims. All 50 guestrooms are simply furnished and feature televisions and direct-dial telephones. Those located at the front of the hotel face the square, while those at the rear overlook a quiet road.

The hotel's reception is manned at all hours by staff who can offer advice on local sights and getting about. The hotel owns a restaurant and a piano bar, both of which are located 50 metres from the property. Facilities for golfing, swimming and tennis can be found in the locality, as can the historic buildings and squares which dot central Reims. The Caves de Champagne, the vaulted cellars of the Champagne Museum are found at two kilometres. Guests find Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) at a distance of 130 kilometres, which amounts to a driving time of 90 minutes.
