Trip Type: With Friends Review 1 of 5You get what you pay for...
Room was spacious and so was the bathroom. Bed was not as comfortable as some nicer hotels, but I was so tired that I did not care. Walls are a bit thin. One night I had loud neighbors. Location is not that pretty, but conveniently located next to a Cafe and shops. Just a few minutes walk to Bellecour. Seemed like a safe neighborhood too. The free wireless internet did not work, which was one of the reasons I booked the hotel.

Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 5Fantastic location and very hospitible staff!
The Grand Hotel de la Paix was delightful! We were warmly welcomed and Momo at the front desk was extremely courteous and helpful throughout our stay. The location was perfect for exploring the city, with cafes and tree- lined streets just outside the lobby of the hotel. The neighborhood felt very safe at all hours. We hope to return to this hotel for a longer stay!

Trip Type: Business Review 4 of 5Great hotel and location for the money
This place has small, minimal rooms, which are just right for the money. The room and bathroom were spotless. Walking distance to great stuff including the "old" section of Lyon, which is ancient and fantastic by American standards. Many ancient Roman ruins. Lots of great and interesting restaurants and cafes within walking distance. If you like to shop, there's a lot nearby. Churches from the Middle Ages. Great museums. Also, walking distance to the parks that run along the Rhone River. Limitation: no wireless internet access.
