Needs Some Improvement

Could feel springs through mattress. Ordinary sounds from adjoining rooms very audible. Bed pillows very flat. Additional requested pillows extrememly lumpy. Enjoyed free parking. Enjoyed breakfast coffee shop - great waitress. Nice bathroom, but toilet paper a little ruff. Spacious room.

Large, clean room

If you are driving to Quebec, Gouverneur Hotel is a great choice. It is close to the main freeway, offers free-parking, and is a easy 10 minute drive away from the Old City. The rooms are large and quiet. It may look a little out-dated from the outside, but it offers a very comfortable stay, and the staff is friendly.

Great Bargin for Location

Le Gouverner was very clean, but showed its age, a few cracks in the tiles, older a/c etc. The location was prime, on Bouv. Laurier right off AutoRoute 73. If your into shopping, this is the location, Place Laurier is right down the road. Easy access to Vieux Quebec, just follow Bouv. Laurier downtown. Service was great, room service was very timely and cheaper for breakfast than the restaurant buffet. We will probably stay here again, soon.

Shows its age. Not well maintained. Poorly run.

This hotel was full the first night we booked it. They sent us to another hotel that was half an hour farther away from the city we were visiting. The second hotel they sent us to never received the paper work, and so charged us for the night as well. The Gouverneur Quebec has not been helpful in sorting out this double charge. The second night we actually stayed at Gouverneur Quebec was sub-par. The staff was unapoligetic and brusk. The rooms showed their age, the airconditioning was loud and the thermostat broken. All in all, I could not recommend this hotel to anyone at any star rating, much less for the very high proce we paid.

great location if driving

great hotel. clean. nice location - next to highway and on the main road into the old city. the people are helpfull and kind. yes. would love to stay again. :-)

Needs improvement

I found the hotel dirty. The stairways were dirty. I found food under my bed. My parents were in a room that had gas like fumes. When I called the front desk they said that they would be right up. A half an hour later after a second call they showed up. My Mom had experienced breathing issues from the fumes and no follow-up was made. They just moved them and forgot about it. There were 6 of us staying there and we all felt that the staff was not very friendly. Maybe it is because we are Americans. Although, we live right next door in Maine. I can remember only one lady tht smiled and greeted us in a warm manner.
