Clean Hotel

I have stayed at Golden Sands before, but booking through hotels.com i am able to get a free day for every 10 days i stay. this makes any deal a great deal. The rooms are cleaned everyday along with linens. Room service is prompt, and there is free internet in the hotel. I had a rude experience with the housekeeping manager when I asked if he would give me a box of tissues, to him no matter how long you stay, you only are allowed one box of tissues, and he litterally threatened me saying he will no longer help me. I found this very odd behavior from the housekeeping managers end. The rooms itself are clean, and the hotel is safe for families. However the managers behavior ruined the stay for me. This is a good hotel for the money, I just as long as you dont ask for anything from housekeeping.

Loved this hotel!

The Golden Sands was a great hotel and helped make my visit to Dubai a wonderful experience. The hotel is rather standard in its appearance but for what it lacks in charm, it makes up for in convenience. Each room is equipped with a kitchenette and cookware so I was able to cook/save money. That was a definite plus! There is also a great gym that has all the essentials and a conference area room that has internet and some of the best free hot chocolate I have ever had out of a machine! The staff is very helpful and housekeeping did a great job in the room. An impression I had is that everything smelled so clean! The only setback is if you have a car, the area is crazy to drive in and it was extremely hard to find the hotel. I definitely got lost many times trying to find the hotel so my recommendation is not to rent a car unless you are familiar with the streets in Dubai. The hotel also offers free airport shuttle service so that is one more plus for an overall great hotel experience! Definitely recommended for the budget traveler who doesn't need special frills.

needs improvement

the service was excellent..my room was cleaned every day and the housekeeping was good. the staff was very friendly and accomdating.. the computers were few and extremely slow..the bathrooms should be equipped with face cloths..my overall judgement of this hotel is that it's overpriced..

Golden Sands Dubai Review

All the staff are great--friendly, helpful, efficient, smart. Having a washer/dryer and full size fridge/freezer in the rooms is a MASSIVE plus. Car rental in lobby massive plus. Great central location, 10 minutes walk from major shopping mall and Spinney's (massive multi-cultural supermarket) and pick up point for the Big Bus tour. 1 minute walk to local grocery store. Only improvements are they have to get WI FI internet access in the rooms, not just in the restaurant; they need to put a small microwave in the room, not just a stove and oven; and they have to tie up with another tour/excursion company that doesn't require a party of 4 to book most trips. The location, room layout and facilities, and super staff make up for all of this. If they get internet access in the rooms I would SURELY stay there again.
