    I was not impressed with this hotel save the view, and the concierge. The room was small, not cozy small, just small – this was my second trip to this hotel and I saved the review for the second experience. I had a lot of street noise, but the hotel is situated in the most posh neighborhood in Moscow. The walk around is beautiful, near fabulous shopping, and it boasts a world-class café in the lobby. One thing you must accept in Moscow is that you will pay for everything. They have not got the ‘comped’ customer service down at all. Because of this fact they will lose the semi-casual traveler. The desk staff struggled with English, French, and German (I tried all three), and I could not even ask for a sparkling water without the saving technology on my iPhone. The concierge however, spoke wonderful English, had a command of all there was to do in the area. The concierge provided a hotel car with driver for the price of any street taxi. Keep the concierge’s card handy, gird your wallet and enjoy one of the most exotic and beautiful cities in the world.

Location. The Golden Ring Hotel in Moscow, Russia is less than two kilometers from Red Square, St Basil's Cathedral, Lenin's Mausoleum and the Kremlin. Sheremetievo Airport is approximately 40 kilometers from the hotel.

Hotel Features. The Golden Ring Hotel is a large, stately hotel featuring Italian and Swiss-designed interiors. The concierge can book guided tours and obtain museum, theater, railway and plane tickets, airport transfers and chauffeur-driven cars. The Panorama Restaurant, on the hotel's 22nd floor, is a formal dining room decorated with rich gold and red colors and dark wooden paneling. The restaurant features panoramic views of the city through floor-to-ceiling windows evenings from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. On Sundays, the Winter Garden Hall, in the Panorama Restaurant, serves Mediterranean dishes on family brunch buffets under a glass dome. Stolichny Restaurant offers Russian and Soviet-style dishes. The interior of the restaurant is decorated with views of Moscow. The hotel's Diamond Lobby Bar offers hot and cold snacks and desserts from the hotel's pasty kitchen each night.

The on-site health center offers individually- tailored fitness plans. Complimentary spa options include thalassotherapy, aromatherapy, thermo- and hydro massage baths and a sauna. The hotel has a business center and eight conference rooms.

Guestrooms. Occupying 23 floors, the Golden Ring Hotel's 293 guestrooms are decorated with patterned fabrics and wooden paneling. All rooms include orthopedic mattresses, minibars, complimentary bottled water and in-room safes. Private bathrooms feature handheld showers, shower/tub combinations and bathrobes. High speed Internet access is available in all of the guestrooms.

Expert Tip. Built in 1960, and the construction of Pavilion #7 in 2002 completed the plans for expansion. Expocentr was designed to hold exhibitions and fairs on an international level. A shuttle to the nearby Expocentr is run by the hotel.
