Did not think we should have to pay for parking, and the area were the shuttle buses picked people up for different things was way to conjested for the peopple using the parking area. Our grandkids loved the pool and the hottub, and the hotel is just old southern beautiful!!!

Trip Type: Romance Review 4 of 246Take plenty of extra cash !!!
This is a beautiful property. Somewhat difficult to navigate because it is so big.The staff was great. The biggest problem we had was after paying for the room in full there was another bill under the door the next morning for resort fee and resort fee tax and another charge for self parking which was also taxed. considering the price of the room one would think they had already gotten their share. Everything is very expensive. 2 drinks in any of the bars will cost you over 20 bucks. We enjoyed it but wont go back. Its nice but not that nice!!

Trip Type: Romance Review 7 of 246GREAT HOTEL
If you are going to stay at this hotel for a couple of days I would recommend you purchase a package so that you can do things! Every thing costs so much but worth it! The hotel rooms need some renovations. The bathrooms are small. However, the hotel is beautiful! We ate at the Waters Edge Marketplace Buffet one day and had horrible service! We loved Stax the hamburger place! And the Jack Daniels Salon is awesome! There are many places to eat and ok priced! Just be sure to know the times that places open and close. We enjoyed our 3 day stay but will stay somewhere else and just come back and visit the hotel next time! Oh, and loved the fact that the mall was in walking distance!!!

Trip Type: Family Review 8 of 246Beautiful Hotel
The extra charges for parking and "resort fees" were very high and unexpected. The bars, restaurants and other shops were also high on all of their prices. The resort itself is beautiful and is a great experience. The food, drinks and music were all that we had hoped. The exercise facility and pools were great. We plan to go back to the area with our children, but will probably stay at one of the other area hotels due to the high fees and other costs.

Trip Type: Romance Review 9 of 246Needs improvement
The hotel room was warm with even putting the thermostat on the lowest. The employees were very to the point and not friendly. Not one employee said "thank you" the whole time we were there. We felt very unwelcomed.

Trip Type: Family Review 13 of 246Fantastic Hotel
This hotel is really a large complex. It is full of lush plants and flowers under a glass domed top. It truly is breathtaking. Our favorite restaurant was Edgewater, where you sit by the edge of the stream and riverboats go by (yes, inside the hotel!). The food was buffet-style, but very gourmet an delicious and international (and pricey!). If you stay here, be sure you will have time to spend in the hotel - there is so much to experience. Excellent workout room! Only downside - it is so big, you can never park very close to the entrance.

Trip Type: Romance Review 14 of 246Costly Experience
The online information didn't mention the extra costs for amenities or the costs for parking. I paid an additional $87 for two nights stay.

Trip Type: Romance Review 15 of 246A memorable experience
The Gaylord Opryland Hotel is a special place. Our overall experience was very positive. The staff was couteous and helpful, especially the front desk at check-in and the Concierge desk. We were able to book tickets and tours right there and the Grand Ole Opry was only an eight minute walk if you did not want to ride their complementary bus shuttle. This is a resort of epic proportions with all the perks. One expects to pay a higher than average hotel rate when staying here and I feel that it was priced right and a value for what we received. I do have a problem however with the $15 "Resort Fee" as well as the parking fee. Just factor those into the hotel room price so it doesn't seem like we're being nickle and dimed with add-ons. Also, coffee in the room would be nice so we could avoid having to pay $3.95 in the lobby for our first cup of the morning. Overall though, I loved this place!
