    Recycling trash cans...No Information packet in the room. Continental breakfast was advertised...didn't happen. No vending machines for pop or soda. It was not very user friendly. They pushed man-made Global Warming..Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth on the dresser. Recycling trash cans...It seemed they put more effort in promoting man-made global warming than the comfort for the guest.

    I have stayed in many hotels throughout my travels and this is indeed the best and most comfortable stay I have ever experienced. The room was extremely clean, the bed was so comfortable, it was like being at home. The view of the pond and fountains from our room was breathtaking and the service was impeccable. This hotel gets an A++ from me. I would defineatly recommend this hotel if you are traveling in the Shasta area.

Location. The Gaia Shasta Hotel overlooks the Sacramento River in Anderson, Calif., 10 miles south of Redding. The hotel stands within three miles of Anderson River Park and Redding Municipal Airport.

Hotel Features. Opened in May 2008, The Gaia Shasta Hotel upholds an eco-friendly philosophy. "Gaia" is Greek for "Mother Earth", and true to its name, the hotel utilizes recycled materials throughout the property. Solar panels and numerous windows and skylights reduce energy consumption. Native and drought-resistant landscaping save water. Leisure amenities include a fitness center, yoga classes and an outdoor pool. Full-service health spa, restaurant and lounge are offered. Complimentary organic breakfast is served daily. Business-friendly amenities include a 6,100-square-foot meeting and banquet space with complimentary high-speed Internet access. The business center equips a computer, printer, fax machine and photocopier.

Guestrooms. The Gaia Shasta Hotel's 120 guestrooms boast pillowtop mattresses dressed in organic cotton linens. Rooms feature 32-inch, flat screen televisions with cable access. Wireless Internet access is complimentary, and in-room safes accommodate laptops. Patios invite fresh river breezes. Rooms also supply coffeemakers and complimentary organic coffee. "Green" bathrooms display recycled tile and granite and water-saving showers with a low-flow design.
