Trip Type: Special Event Review 1 of 4Lumpy Beds, bad service and stray kitties
We recently stayed at the Executive Inn in Hondo for a wedding and the place was less than desirable. At first glance, everything looked ok, but the hotel manager made sure to nickel and dime us on everything before we even got into the room. We never got maid service and had to walk to the front to get additional towels and toilet paper. The mattresses feel like they were original to the room (which was probably built in the 70s. Also, around the corner and all throughout are stray cats that try to roam into your room if you leave the door open for a minute. Granted, choices in Hondo are slim, but the Executive Inn should rank last on your list.

Trip Type: Family Review 2 of 4Disappointing
The most interesting feature of this motel is its prolific use of mirrors for room design. It would be an excellent choice for someone who wants to meet a lover for an illicit tryst, provided the lover does not care about bugs or trash. It was a less-than-adequate stop-over for my family on our way to a better vacation spot. Sandwiched between the old Wal-Mart & the new Wal-Mart, this old motel has been renovated by thrifty Middle-Easterners. The pool is clean, yet surrounded by concrete & asphalt with little aesthetic benefits. Dead and live crickets clustered near our threshold, and a birdsnest was near our door with lots of poopy trails along the wall to mark patterns of activity from the spring. A total of seven crickets were spotted in our room --two hopped out of the bedspread when our sons turned down their bed. Three crickets were dead. The crickets can turn their chirps on and off much like an alarm clock that has no snooze button. It was good to be able to bring our dog, but sad to see that some people don't take their dogs to the distant grassy fields to do their business. Several dry turds tumbled around in the windy parking lot. Behind our room was an enormous pile of materials that had been removed from the rooms during recent renovation. I'm sure the pile is a popular wildlife habitat, if you know what I mean. This "executive" motel is frustratingly over-priced.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 3 of 4Hondo Hotel
I guess this is what you get in Hondo. Outside looked nice and the room was ok; but the sheets and towels not good.
