Poor Service

I would not want anyone that I know to use this hotel. Service is bad and the hotel is like an old partly repaired drug house.

You get what you pay for!

The location is the best thing about the hotel, as it is only a couple of blocks from the French Quarter. The hotel staff was not friendly, and seemed disorganized. The room was small with the bed shoved against a wall. The bathroom was dirty when we arrived and we had to ask for towels and soap. The hotel overall seemed dingy, and the thing they don't advertise is their "weekly" renters. I won't stay here again. If the price seems to good to be true, it probably is!

Good choice for a good time

The rooms are pretty small but the rates are pretty cheap. We went down during Mardi Gras, and could not ask for better location. All the staff was very friendly and we wound up having an excellent stay.

Stay here only if you plan to be pissy drunk when come back to your room.

My room was a tiny with a regular(not extra long) bed with no headboard.We kept having to fix the bedframe. The floors and walls in my bathroom were oily with something. I had to ask for an extra towel to put on the bathroom floor. The towels and washclothes were just hameful. They charged 25 cents for ice. It was like staying in a flop house. I was on the first floor which was a big mistake. There was noise all night long. You have to leave your key everytime you leave. They enter your room to clean and give you no option to decline. I suspect that the Empress Hotel normally rents by the hour except during Mardi Gras.

Don't use this hotel or service

I asked for a room with 2 queen size beds, I got a room with 1 double size bed. I met a friend at this hotel, she traveled from Texas to New Orleans, I traveled from Georgia to New Orleans. Needless to say, we had no choice but to stay because of a convention. I will never use this hotel or service again.
