Overall, the hotel was good with one of the best locations in Athens if you are there to see the parthenon and other historical sites. The twin beds in the room only had one pillow each. The beds would have been much more comfortable if they had an additional pillow.

Who arranges a junior suite with two seperate double beds pushed together? This hotel does. Wasn't comfortable at all for the price paid. On the flip side, fantastic location, walking distance to great sites, restaurants and shopping. They'll also serve the included breakfast in your room for only a few euros extra.

Convenient location right inside the Plaka and walking distance to Acropolis complex with many restaurants. It is also walking distance to Santagma Square (Constitution Square), the center of the Athen's City, where you can get on bus, tram and subway. We strongly recommend to other travellers.

The hotel was everything we hoped for and expected. A wonderful stay and an extremely accommodating staff to compliment the stay. They offer a great breakfast which is included in the price, a great indoor and outdoor pool as well as a Turkish steam bath and sauna. The hotel's location is extremely convenient to wonderful shops and dining and is very much within walking distance to the ancient ruins.

a decent enough hotel, but more like a 3-star hotel than a 5-star hotel. the breakfast is not that great, but the fresh-squeezed orange juice is nice. the coffee is lousy.

The location of the Electra Palace Hotel cannot be beat. In the midst of the Plaka district in downtown Athens -- it is within easy walking distance of shopping, tavernas, and several ancient ruins. The Plaka itself is very charming, with predominately well-maintained, neo-classical buildings on narrow streets. The hotel also has a spectacular view of the Athenian acropolis from the upper floors and the restaurant. I stayed for two days in early January. I arrived at 11 in the morning, was upgraded to a suite on the 7th floor, and was immediately checked into the room. The room was spacious by European standards and had a great bathroom. The balcony had a teriffic view of the acropolis. Both the room and the public areas were quiet, clean and well-maintained. My only complaint is the beds. They were very, very hard, even by European standards.

Trip Type: Business Review 26 of 54eh' could do better
Hotel is in a great section of the city. Pretty central to Athens and many of the shops and sites. Lobby is impressive and really seems to be one of the better hotels in Athens. However, 5-star is a little bit of a stretch. By US standards, probably more of a 3.5-star. My experience can be summed up in two words: bed bugs. First night in I arrived late and tried to get some sleep. Luckily, I can't adjust to the time change and was awake enough to notice a minor swarm of little red bed bugs crawling around me on the bed. Very very very gross. Hotel was very good in helping me change rooms. But no comps and no apologies. I don't know if this is very common in Europe or not, but definitely NOT acceptable. I think this was a very big abberation, so will give the hotel the benefit of the doubt. Only other comment is that the rooms are uncomfortably warm. Very hard to get AC or air movement (I had two rooms so pretty sure this is not room specific). My 2 cents.

MOST OF THE TIME WHEN STAYING IN A 5 STAR HOTEL, I'M SURROUNDED BY HIGH END SHOPS AND RESTAURANTS. IN THIS PARTICULAR OCCASION, I ENDED UP BEING PART OF AN ANCIENT NEIGHBORHOOD, WHICH ONLY ADDED TO THE EXCITEMENT OF THE TRIP. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Great location, hotel personnel very accommodating and friendly. A very short 2 block walk to Adrianou St. and lots of sidewalk cafes. Also close to the flea market. Would highly recommend this hotel!
