El Caribe Resort & Conference Center

Very good for the money...

If you want to spend a night or two at an oceantfront hotel for a great price, this is the place. The hotel was clean and the people at the front desk were professional, had a package with brochures and our keys when we checked in and they made themselves available for anything we needed. The hotel is not new so the room did have a funny smell (nothing we could not forget when we stepped out to the balcony and saw the view of the pool and beach). It is minutes away from Main St (for those looking a for a club to party). We will definitely be back.

Outstanding Hotel

The "El Caribe" is someplace you have to SEE to understand how wonderful it is. I first went there 40 years ago when it was a mom&pop motel. Since then, they've bought surrounding property and turned it into a beautiful RESORT! Beautifully maintained and clean. My only dissapointment is that I couldn't rate this property HIGHER!! It's the only place I'll stay in Daytona Beach. The breakfasts were healthy and satisfying. The maid service and front desk staff EXCELLENT! The maintenance kept everything running well and the landscape was gorgeous! Right on the beach and a gorgeous 2 mile walk to the pier. YES! I give it a 5 all the way!

Clean & Manicured

This resort is simply beautiful. From the people that work at the property to the room. The rooms are VERY clean and comfortable. The property is WELL maintain and manicured, and it shows. There are several activities on premises something for everyone. It' a great place for family reunions,get togethers or a simply get away. It's very reasonabling priced also. We REALLY enjoyed ourselves and we won't go anywhere else on Daytona Beach.

Need Improvement...a lot

The most important issue..the beds where old and worn out, noisy wood frames and uncomfortable for and average size person. Second the wireless internet did not work for the two days I was there on two seperate wireless devices I travel with. I called the front desk. They claimed they where working....but there was zero signal. The below window mounted AC system was noisy..the blower mototr needed replacement.

great for the money

we loved the room, very large, the girl at the front desk was very great about giving us a room facing the ocean and pool...the only thing is next time we will wanrt to be in a room that doesn't connect to another with kitchen becausse you could hear others in that room for awhile at night, otherwise we will definetly be back....

Met needs

Good hotel for people on a budget. Don't expect wireless internet though - there isn't any! The beach is beautiful. Would stay there again unless I win the lottery.

Great room for the money

Staff was friendly. Beds were hard as a rock and elevator took forever. However, for the price....it was great. Clean, view was great, and staff was very nice. Not much you can ask for if you do not plan to spend 100's of dollars for someplace to lay your head. The pool and beach were super and that is why were were there. I would stay here again.

A diamond in the rough

I was a little apprehensive when I first drove up into the parking lot of El Caribe and went into the office to register. The pictures on the website showed a very modern looking resort and the office is very old and shabby. Our room was beautiful and very clean. Service was great and I felt very safe there. I plan to stay at El Caribe whenever we travel to Daytona.

Needs Improvement

Doesn't have a hot tub. The pool that was supposed to be heated was very cold. The hotel was just okay.

Really enjoyable stay

The hotel really exceeded my expectations. I chose it from people's comments on the website. Then, when I drove up, there was this lime green hotel and I was like, "Uh oh!" Well, we went in and the lobby was very clean ... maybe older looking and the employees were very, very friendly. Our room was very clean ... I really couldn't find one complaint. They even swept up the sand when there wasn't any so your feet don't always have sand on them and track sand in the rooms. The heated pool was really nice even though the beach water was cold ... it was just an all around great experience. I would definitely recommend the hotel and I would definitely go back!!
