Trip Type: With Friends Review 1 of 10Perfect for Younger Couple
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Eden Lancaster for three nights in early August of 09 and loved it, especially for the money. It's about a 10-15 minute train ride from Centraal station, so it's out of the hustle and bustle (and noise) of the center while still conveniently located. The hotel staff was very friendly- accommodating our requests for maps, directions, restaurant tips, etc. It was clean and quiet the entire time we were there. It's right across the street from the zoo (luckily, no zoo smell) and occasionally we heard wild birds in the morning, which was actually sort of pleasant. The room was a little on the small side and wifi is provided only spottily in the lobby, but that's pretty normal for European hotels. I would definitely stay here again.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 2 of 10Nice location, safe and 15 min walk to the center.
Location is nice, safe and close to the city center, there is a very good cafeteria next to the hotel (coffee to walk). Really good coffee, sandwiches and sweets (the owner is very nice!). The room is small and not that confortable. The bathroom is too small, but it was clean. It is a little overpriced. If the cost was 60% of the real one it would be fair. But it was a good experience.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 3 of 10Very nice hotel, but not so great location
The hotel was very nice and clean with a very nice staff and also had free internet. The only thing that we didn't like was the location. It was in a very clean, safe area however not in walking distance to all the action. When you arrive at the train stain, you need to take either a metro ot a cab to get to the hotel rather than just walking like a lot of the other hotels. However, the metro does run right near the hotel (you take # 9 from the train station to get there), if you don't mind doing that everyday to get to places.

Trip Type: Romance Review 4 of 10Decent Hotel
This hotel was in a good location within walking distance to everything. A little expensive for the size of the room, but seemed to be the best deal in Amsterdam where everything was pretty high priced.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 9 of 10Basic and Simple
Overall the hotel was ok. However, the bed was too hard and very difficult to sleep as I spend each night tossing and turning until 3-4am.
