Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 2 of 54Outstanding Hotel: Great Location and Price
We couldn't believe how LUCKY we got with this hotel, especially for the price. The staff was awesome and service was great! The hotel is also in a perfect location to many great restaurants and to the local tram; you can get anywhere you want to visit in Amsterdam in just minutes!

You can take red bus 197 from the airport right to the hotel. A canal boat ride is just across the street. All the museums and Anne Frank's home is within walking distance. Very trendy location. Lots of young people, which I enjoyed, even though I am middle aged. There were street performers and a grocery store and restaurants closeby. You will have to pay a city tax upon leaving that is not included in Hotel.com price.

Trip Type: Romance Review 7 of 54Great Price, Great Location
The hotel was in a great spot of amsterdam, with walking distance and metro services at your fingertips. The hotel was very clean and the hotel staff was very helpful. The evening was quiet, unlike downtown and we would definitely stay there again!

Loved the location right by the canals and the heartbeat of Amsterdam. A little more expensive than others but not totally out of line. Hasve plans to stay there again. Clean and good service.

Trip Type: Business Review 9 of 54Internet Service a Big Issue
I stayed at this hotel for business reasons and was quite disappointed to pay 22 EUR for 24 hours of internet acccess. It was not for hours of use but just 24 straight hours after initiation, which is ridiculous since people sleep for 8 of those hours. This rate is enormously expensive, especially for the "business room" which should include internet! I gave the hotel a lower overall mark primarily for this infuriating reason. I stayed for 3 nights, so to pay 66 EUR for internet access is just a joke. There wasn't even the option of just purchasing 1 hour worth of internet. Otherwise, the hotel was fine and in a prime location close to everything.

Average hotel. Located near the square on the canal, but many rooms have no view. Not as clean as other hotels. Everything extra was very expensive. Walking distance to many shops and resturants. Public transportation right out front.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 12 of 54Great location, Bad service
We stayed here for three days in late May 2009. Hotel is in a great spot, although the tram line outside is loud. The service was bad, and we felt unappreciated as guests (we travel all over the world, and are not unreasonably demanding by any measure). Maybe they just don't like Americans. One example is that we ordered wake up calls for three mornings, but they only actaully called us on one of the three, and that call was late by 20 minutes. Another is when we tried to make a dinner reservation on day one. The concierge never called us back, so on day two I called again. Later that day, I received a call confirming my dinner reservation from a male concierge. About ten minutes later I received another call from a female concierge telling me that the restaurant was closed. I pointed out that her male colleague had just called to confirm my dinner reservation - she had no idea who the male concierge was, and informed me that the restaurant was closed. Oner last example is when we needed to buy some different shampoo than was available in the room due to allergies. We went to the front desk and asked if they sold any, answer was no. We then noticed later that they did, indeed, sell shampoo. This would have been no big deal if we had not waled for 20 minutes to buy the shampoo somewhere else.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 13 of 54Great hotel, great location
The location is outstanding, right at Leidseplein. Within walking distance from major museums and the canal boats. The hotel itself is a historical landmark with its art-nouveau architecture. My room was in the attic so it was somewhat small, but clean and functional. I really enjoyed staying at this hotel, and if I ever go back to Amsterdam I will probably stay here again.

Trip Type: Business Review 14 of 54Great Location
I have stayed here over five times. I have stayed at three other hotels in Amsterdam, including the Okura. May not have the nicest room but I keep coming back for the location. The outdoor cafe by the fountain is very nice.
