while I tried to book for a non smoking room i got a smoking instead. People that smoke in the room has left a veeeerrry bad smell in the room that sticks in ur skin for days. If u dont smoke, try to get a non-smoking room.

Econo Lodge, Jersey City - not worth the price

This hotel was not worth the rate paid. It had an offensive odor throughout, there was no elevator, the light fixtures in the room either did not work at all or had to be unplugged from the wall to be turned off. There were holes in the comforters on the bed and there was a limited number of working TV channels although it appeared that the room was supposed to have cable programming. This was not a hotel that I would recommend to anyone.

Terrible hotel

I did not believe the reviews that had been posted earlier saying that this was a bad place. I regret having not heeded to the suggestion by others to run from this place. It is a terribly dilapidated place. While I did not have any issues with the reception staff I was apalled by the state of the hotel. The carpet in the room looked like it had never been cleaned, the wallpaper was dirty and tearing. The bed was a completely different story. The mattress had cigarette burns, the sheets smelled as if it had not been cleaned since the last person's stay. Finally even the towels were horribly dirty. While they replaced the towels everyday, I seriously doubted the quality of their washing. One day I ended up with towels that smelled of vomit. Clearly someone had cleaned up with those towels and the towels had not been cleaned properly, let alone be disposed. Do not stay at this place.

Needs improvement.The bathrooms fixtures were were old and sometime coming out.Some of them were broken. The hotels corridors and stairs were dirty. Price is ok for a hotel in that area

Worst Hotel Ever

From start to finish, my experience with this hotel was AWFUL: surly staff; furniture and fixtures broken or nearly so; iffy bed linens; thin, non-absorbent towels; too many other problems to list.
