Not bad!

The hotel common areas were nice and the staff was friendly and helpful. I checked in a little early but my room was not ready. The staff took my bag and moved into the room for me while I was off for my meeting. The room was very small, but comfortable. Bathroom was clean and everything worked well. I did think the price was a bit expensive for what you get even in New York City. I would stay again if I need to be in Manhantan South.

Not perfect but great value!

Dream host and hostess operate this facility. The rooms are small, but cozy and very clean. Wish there was room for a comfy chair and better TV reception but would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Great room for the money

really nice boutique hotel located on the lower east side. close to good restaurants, shops and subway. It was a VERY small room, but good value for the money. Only complaints would be that it was a little noisey, drafty even with the heat on, and the beds were a little hard. And the TV was nice, but the cable didn't work well and got some channels, but not basic others like NBC.

Clean Hotel, Great Lower East Side Location

For the price, we really liked the hotel. Small room but laid out very very well. Hotel staff was friendly and courteous. We needed some ice, (they don't have an ice machine) and they went out and got us some. It's a great location if you want to visit Chinatown, Canal Stree and even East Village. We were able to easily walk almost everywhere we went. Cab ride to Penn Station was only about $16 bucks with tip.

Fab. location

Love staying here. If you like the Village, Lower East Side, Soho, this is a great central location to walk the city. The roof deck has a spectacular view. Rooms are very small, but immaculate.

Service was good but there was a constant smell/water noise

I stayed in the last room on the 5th floor towards the back of the hotel (away from the street) either 507 or 508 and there was a contant audiable sound of water flowing through pipes in the wall. Not pleasant when I was trying to sleep. The front desk investigated it but could do nothing about it. Also the lobby and elevator smelled like cat litter...every day. I thought it was just a temp odor..but alas it was not. And that is what I was greeted with everytime I entered the hotel. Other than these two things my stay was average.

Very Loud Neighborhood

This hotel was lovely, and we loved the design. However, a night club is across the street, and the boom diddy boom did not end until 3 am.....and it was entirely and utterly comprehensive in its penetration of the brick and glass of the hotel. So....if you need to sleep, and cannot stand the noises of the city, you better choose a different place to stay. Otherwise, what a nice and beautiful hotel.

Awesome location, small room

The hotel has a very cool, chic, modern look. I didn't find the staff to be particularly helpful or friendly, but that didn't matter much since I spent little time at the hotel. The room was pretty tiny- just enough room for me to walk around the bed. Really nice marble bathroom. Would have preferred if there were a closet rather than just a small cabinet with only 3 hangers.

Fine Hotel

My wife and I were visiting our son in East Village, so the location of the East Houston Hotel was extremely convenient, and the Hotel itself was perfectly fine for a one night stay. The room was extremely small, barely large enough to fit the bed and very difficult for two people actually to be standing at the same time. No room for a chair, other than the leather stool that slipped under a shelf/vanity table. But the room was clean and temperature control was good. Bathroom was clean and adequate. We would go back again for a similar brief stay as long as we don't have to spend a lot of time in the room. We had to park the car in an unaffiliated garage about five blocks away. The breakfast room is in the basement, and is fine for its purpose.

Great hotel in a great location

My husband and I loved staying at the East Houston Hotel. The hotel is very clean. The rooms are on the small side, but we did not spend much time in our room. We would like to come back to the hotel in the summer so that we can use the rooftop deck. The location of the hotel is very convient to Broadway street (shopping) and all different kinds of bars. For a good Italian dinner check out Apizz which is right down the street from the hotel. The hotel also offers a great continental breakfast and use of two computers. We would definately stay at this hotel again.

Great deal for NYC

Teeny, though immaculate rooms. Sweet location, tastefully appointed.
