Trip Type: With Friends Review 1 of 75Nice Place
My weekend getaway at this hotel was nice all in all except that for some reason my room wasn't cleaned up the next day and we ran out of tissue. Isn't there usually and additional role of tissue somewhere in the room?

The Lady at the front desk was very rude and not helpful at all example: we asked for location of nearest resturant and she claimed she didn't know and the next day we asked another lady and she handed us a card w/directions.

We went there for my daughter's Diabetic seminar it was easy to find the staff was very helpful to places to go in the area. Are room was very clean had a nice view and balcony. It was nice to have a pool, bowling alley , bar and restaurant there that we used we also play Ms Pacman which is in by the bowling alley and bar. We enjoyed our stay and would go back there again.

Trip Type: Family Review 9 of 75A quiet gem
My family and I love staying here when we visit Chicago each summer. The resort is always so clean and never crowded. On-site parking is free which is so convenient. It's very easy to catch the METRA into Chicago from beautiful downtown Itasca. Nearby Schaumburg offers great shopping and dining. The resort rooms are clean and beautifully decorated. The beds are so comfortable. The spa has a huge pool that has always been clean and the water is never too cold. The spa also houses a neon bowling alley which is great for some family fun. We love sitting around the large fire pit the resort has burning each evening. We usually don't dine at the resort as the restaurants there are a little pricey. Staying here is always a relaxing experience.

Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 12 of 75Great value
This resort is a great value. I didn't expect to be impressed, but I was well pleased with the service and features that this hotel has to offer. The staff were friendly and accommodating but they did a poor job of communicating the features of the resort and nearby amenities. When I asked for a map they had to scramble around and eventually handed me a marked up diagram of the hotel lay out and operating hours of the pool, spa, etc. If I wouldn't have gone to the web site I wouldn't have know everything that was offered to the guest. This is a great location. Its away from the Chicago traffic but still close enough to take advantage of events going on in the city. The rates for golf an spa treatments were reasonable. Unfortunately there were so many great restaurants in the area that we didn't get an opportunity to dine at the resort so I can't comment on the food, but we plan to go back soon.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 13 of 75Long Walk to the Rooms from the lobby
The rooms are nice but it is a long walk to the rooms from the lobby. Also our key cards did not work. We had to have the staff reset them several times.

Trip Type: Romance Review 14 of 75An absolute waste of money, a dressed-up budget hotel
This hotel looked gorgeous. The lobby is breathtaking and the decor throughout was art deco heaven. If only the service and amenties matched the appearance, I would have been happy. From the start, a two-person reservation got one robe and two towels. Warning lights went off. This is a spa/resort, which is why we came. We've been to many and love the serenity. This one was as relaxing as your neighborhood rec center. The pool area was full of screaming teens and adults so that my husband and I, sitting next to each other in the whirlpool (dirty, no less) could not even hear each other. The spa was a joke, as the screaming from the pool (another day, no less) could be heard during my "relaxing" treatments. I did complain and was told (rudely) that the pool area was public and they could not regulate the noise. Staff members were absent or rude. I looked for the conceirge for hours on end when I needed help, only to give up and go to a coffee shop for help. We were given malfunctioning key cards repeatedly with rude service, only to walk up to the room and find they still didn't work (keep in mind the elevator is quite a hike from the reception desk). The bellman actually watched us drag several suitcases in and never offered to help. Do yourself a favor. Stay at a cheap hotel and bring a nice painting to spruce it up. Then go to the rec center and give yourself a neck rub. It's about the same experience.
