Trip Type: Family Review 16 of 329Great Hotel - Kid Friendly
We would definitely recommend this hotel! If you have children – this is the place to go. With all the pools and slides, no child will complain of boredom. Our toddler had a blast! The rooms were clean, service excellent and the hotel was in great condition. On the downside - you might want to bring your own pillows because the ones they have are quite uncomfortable. Also, we noticed that towels were somewhat worn out and fraying. What we liked the most was the location of the hotel. It was very serene and safe, perfect for the families.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 17 of 329Great Family Hotel
This is a family resort, no doubt about it. It is also a condo hotel which we were not aware of, although we knew the unit had a kitchenette. We arrived early in the morning and the front desk tried to accommodate us with an early check in and when we didn't like the room (due to an earlier review I read - it was on the 1st floor next to the pool) they allowed us to wait for another room, which was on the 5th floor - excellent ocean view, soundproof - never heard anyone in the rooms or hallway, great private balcony. The hotel is isolated - there are no restaurants or nightlife nearby. We didn't have a car - big mistake, cabs are expensive. It was a great place for families - not for a romantic weekend. We felt the sheets, towels (room and pool) were in terrible shape. Bring your own!

Trip Type: Romance Review 21 of 329family oriented
The hotel is very family oriented, it is also intended for extended stays, with kitchenettes. Wish the menues at the restaurants were a little more extensive.

Trip Type: Romance Review 22 of 329GREAT RESORT!
I LOVED the Dunes Village Resort! It has so many activities built into the property. The location is great. The room was very spacious and clean. The full kitchen really came in handy. I would definately recommend this hotel to anyone!

Trip Type: Family Review 23 of 329Great Concept and nice rooms
Nice hotel/condo they will try to sell you timeshare but great amenities great for the kids with indoor water park with slides and water themes adequate for all ages. Small slides for the tiny ones and big water slides for the big kids indoor facility allows you to stay out of the heat which can be intense in mid summer. Lazy river and pools were adequate and fun for kids. Room was a 1 bedroom suite had sofa pull out 2 queen beds in 1 bedroom, murphy bed in living room more than adequate for our family of 3 and could have held more. Cooking facilities on premises great if you don't want to eat out all the time kitchen was fully equipped. Tile floor in most of place carpet in bedroom and living room. Towels were old and worn and would recommend bringing your own towels & washcloths and couch could have used steam cleaning but other than that great place to stay. All units seem to have different decor ours was average and view was not direct ocean but was as expected as no ocean front were available. Small balcony served its purpose.

Trip Type: Family Review 24 of 329not so great
the suite was considerable smaller than expected; the carpet was in disrepair; the table and appliances showed their age and wear; took WAY too long to get hot water in the shower.

If you are taking the kids to the beach this is the place for you. I did love that aspect but it was allot of children there in the indoor water park. I guess we should have expected that since it was peak summer time. I don't know, it was just allot of kids. I didn't like being on the 1st floor because everyone in the pool could look in your room but its great when transporting the kids around. It's in a great location on Ocean Blvd near everything. The beach didn't have too many people on it and the water was very nice. It has a kitchen i would advise using it because the cafe is pricey especially with kids and the buffet is not worth it even though the kids were free for 3 and under. Not enough variety. Overall there were some downfalls but I would go back just at a different time.

Trip Type: Family Review 26 of 329Clean Room
The room was extremely clean when we arrived, which is rare for a room on the beach, as we have stayed at other resorts in Myrtle Beach and the rooms were not as clean. The only negative is that housekeeping never showed on one of our days. We did request fresh towels and they arrived in minutes. Overall, this was a very nice place to stay on the beach. The staff was courteous and the resort is in a nice location, on the northern end of Myrtle.

Trip Type: Family Review 29 of 329Loved it!
We would highly recommend Dunes village Resort to anyone we know. The beach was great and just steps away from the hotel room, the pools and the indoor waterpark. The kids loved the waterpark, the lazy rivers and the pools which stay open until 11PM. Breakfast buffet is ok. The location is great since it's close to so many restaurants, shops and Broadway. Should definitely try Carolina Roadhouse, 5 minutes from the hotel. The food is delish!

Trip Type: Romance Review 30 of 329Don't pay for oceanfront on lower floors!
We picked the hotel because it had oceanfront rooms and we were willing to pay for it. Unfortunately we were stuck in a first floor room beside the kitchen looking at the pool deck, and because there were no other oceanfront rooms available, we were stuck. It was our anniversary, so we weren't going to spend the time to find another place. The hotel also did not compensate us for our unhappiness. Ok hotel for the money, especially for kids, but this experience left a sour taste in my mouth and probably won't go back. Just be sure if you pay for oceanfront to get the view, you are a few floors up! Probably shouldn't have reserved it online.
