Trip Type: Family Review 1 of 180Value for money
Room was clean but not enough light - hard to see/read. Location was great - within walking distance of most everything. I would stay here again.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 2 of 180Awesome room close to Beale St.
We chose the Doubletree Hotel because of its location to Beale Street but we were more than surprised at the fantastic room we received as well. The beds were extremely comfortable with lots of pillows and the sheets and lines were great. The room itself was huge with plent of room to move around. We even took pictures to show our friends. Beale St. was only three blocks away, so it was very convenient, and we didn't have to worry about taxi's, driving, or walking. It was easy to find, right on Union Street. The neighborhood leading up to the hotel was a little shaky, but from the hotel on, was all pretty decent. One quick note, the parking valet, who never handled my car, she remembered me and my vanity plate. Now, that's service!

Trip Type: Romance Review 3 of 180Expensive for its Type
Our room was on the first floor and there was quite a bit of street noise. Also a bit loud off the atrium style lobby. Other than that a pleasant experience, but I have stayed at equally nice or nicer hotels that cost less.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 4 of 180Better than previous stays
This hotel has been updated since I was there just 6 months ago. Perfect location to see James Govan and the Boogie Blues Band at Rum Boogie Cafe on Beale Street. Plan to be there again next month and will stay at this hotel for sure again.

The hotel exceeded my expectations. It was very cute--more chic than I would have thought. Delish cookies when you check in, super cute room and walking distance to everything.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 7 of 180nice hotel near Beale St.
The hotel lobby was nice and service was decent. The room was OK but not great. One drawback is that there was only one chair, an inconvenience for 2 people. It almost seemed like there was an easy chair missing in a corner that had a lamp but was otherwise empty. We were only there for the night and it was an easy walk to Beale St, so it's a good choice if your itinerary includes tath--also convenient for the Civil Rights Museum, Mud Island, Sun Records and other downtown attractions or business.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 8 of 180Needs Improvement
(1) The key-card lock on our door would not work with anything except the housekeeper's card. I had to complain at the front desk three times to get them to fix the lock. (2) The beds had a crown in the middle like a highway. (3) The carpeting in the hallway to our room looked terrible.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 9 of 180Some Problems
The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. We had a few small problems but, they were taken care of quickly. We had requested a king smoking room and we checked in and got to our room it was a king non smoking. I called the front desk and we were moved quickly to a smoking room. Also, the card reader on the door went out and we were unable to get into our room. We again contacted the desk and they sent someone up to let us into our room. The card reader had to be replaced which was done after we checked out later that morning. Parking was $20.00 per day which was well worth the price.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 10 of 180Very nice hotel, but...
Great property, great room, great location. The attached TGI Friday was average but convenient. Easy to walk almost everywhere. The only problem we had was when we checked in. Although our process was smooth, our friends, who are gold members of Hilton, had a hard time getting a room change, even though the hotel was far from full. The front desk manager was rather unfriendly. The following day, when I needed directions, the same manager semed like I was bothering her and seemed to brush me off with a half answer to my question. However, desk clerk managers come and go while the hotel itself was very nice.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 12 of 180Decent hotel, parking situation stinks.
It's extremely irritating to be forced to pay $20 extra (per day) for valet parking and to then have to wait for half an hour or so for them to bring you your car when you check out. I wasn't the only one who was irritated at this; everyone else was as well. I'm just glad I didn't have a flight to catch. It was also quite irritating to be awakened by the bed next door repeatedly ramming into the wall in rapid fashion such that it sounded and felt like someone was jackhammering the wall for a good 5-10 minutes. They need some serious padding on the backs of their headboards or something. 'Nuff said about that. The ice machine situation was pretty terrible; the one on our floor didn't work at all, the floor above us didn't have one, and the one on the floor below us seemed to work but never had more than a handful of melting ice. That meant going down 2 floors for ice and either taking the stairs or the extremely busy elevators which always seemed to stop at every single floor. This place was very, VERY busy at all hours. They do provide a free wireless Internet connection (look for the SSID "hhonors" when you're connecting), which was a good thing, as the office connection on the desk which provides power, a phone line and an ethernet port was completely broken and dangling loose, and none of those connectors functioned. Other than that, the hotel was pretty decent -- not the fanciest or most recently renovated, but the staff was friendly (aside from the valets, who were kind of surly) and everything else not mentioned above was adequate.
