Trip Type: With Friends Review 1 of 32awsome deal
but the lobby was under constuction that is probly why i got such a good rate you can tell it is owned by the hilton it also had a wet bar which was nice the only thing was the shower was half a tub and the curtain didn't cover the area and water got all over the floor. If they had a hot tube I would have made the stay much nicer

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 3 of 32You get what you pay for...
Nice hotel, clean, curteous staff. Restaurant very nice, good food and great staff. Clean rooms and public areas. Only glitch was that we paid for an oceanview room - which we had to stand on our tippy toes on the balcony to see, and it was about 5 blocks away - looking through the spaces between bigger buildings. We were more than a bit disappointed - thinking we would have a better view and felt a bit deceived about that view...

the hotel staff was great, the location was good. The room was not as clean as it could be and the smell was awful. It smelled very musty and like mold.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 6 of 32Good price and location.
I had already a lot of information about this hotel from other blogs and comments from other people. It's a great hotel with a lot of close food pplaces anf only few minutes walk from the beach. If you don't enjoy walking, don't stay here - it's 15min away from the strip. Clean, nice people and warm chocolate chip cookies every day.

Trip Type: Business Review 7 of 32Good hotel but not too close to the ocean
Good hotel, clean and a good location if you don't want to go to the beach every day. The parking is expensive, but I guess all other hotels charge the same.Close to the stores and restaurants - great breakfast at IHOP. It's quiet at night because it's far from the busy strip, but it's only walking distance from the busy nightlife if you want to have fun.

Trip Type: Family Review 8 of 32It's fine. Expensive parking
Nothing wrong with hotel. Par for the course for Waikiki, but I would not say this was as nice as other Doubletrees. Smallish room but clean and in good repair. Free Wifi in the lobby, but you pay for it in the room. Parking is Valet only and $27/per day which I thought was crazy. I could not find that in the hotels.com description but maybe I missed it.

Trip Type: Family Review 9 of 32Okay Hotel
I don't know if this was an original DoubleTree or not. Our only complaint was the small size of bathroom and tub. It seemed to be based on older european or asian standards. We picked this hotel for a one night stop over in Honolulu and it served it's purpose. Quiet, clean rooms. Staff was very friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a less expensive hotel and don't need to be right on Waikiki, this hotel might work for you.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 12 of 32Hidden costs
Parking costs were not disclosed at the time of reservation, which were $25/day. The business center did not have free internet, however it did have wireless internet with no cost. The bathtub/shower was half sized, and the shower head was over a foot too short.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 13 of 32Let people know about parking
The cookies we were given upon arriving were warm and delicious and the staff was very helpful. When I booked this hotel, it said there was parking on site. You need to elaborate as we were surprised when we were told it costs $25 a day to valet park and you could not park yourself. Every time we left or came back, we were happy to tip the valet on top of the parking fee as we are travelers w/a flexible budget. For others, this might be a big issue. Our bathroom (we had a suite because we have four children) was big and wonderful, but my parents had a two queen room with a very small bathroom that only had a half-sized tub. Other than the terribly uncomfortable couch pull out my older sons slept on, it was a nice hotel with a wonderful pool area.

Trip Type: Family Review 14 of 32Comfortable hotel
This hotel was very comfortable and nice. The cookies were excellent. We only stayed one night but the kids really enjoyed the swimming pool and the beds were very comfortable (except the pull out couch which was a bit springy) other than that it was a nice place to stay.
