I would recommend the Dolce Hays Mansion to anyone that is looking for a great place to stay. Great price, wonderful breakfast and staff. We will be going back next time we are in San Jose.Get directions from the Hotel or online, it is hidden in a residential area.

Trip Type: Romance Review 19 of 129Great place for the money
We got a summer deal when we stayed and were very happy with the hotel. Comparing prices we could never have received the overall experience for the price we paid somewhere else. We agree with others comments about the residential neighborhood and the surrounding area but we enjoyed our stay very much!

Trip Type: Family Review 21 of 129If you like an old mansion....
If you like an old building such as castle style hotels etc, you'll like it. Though there is state route 82 right next to this hotel, it's quiet. It has also Edenvale Garden Park on the other side. Only 15 min drive from San Jose downtown. However it seems to be used for some convention or graduation ceremony etc often... When you have like this events on the same day to stay, you would be tired of waiting to check in at the front desk... I like an old architecture. So I enjoyed looking at the stained-glass on the ceiling at the entrance hall. I just didn't have chance to take a look their dining room. I heard their dining room was also pretty.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 24 of 129Great room at a budget motel price
The hotel was a first class hotel. Nice room, location, property well kept, and friendly staff. My only complaint was of the sandpaper bath towels in the room like one would find in a budget motel. Other than that it was great. My girlfriend and I do plan to return for many more visits.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 27 of 129something different
I was looking for something different and it sure was different. The grounds are well kept but the location is so so, the parking lot is full of sings that says they are not reponsible for any theft or valdelisim to your car, that kinda worried me, but thankfully nothing happened. Knowing you are exahusted from your trip U came to find a bottle of water in the room that says if you touch this you will be charged $4 dollars. give me a break four dollars for a bottle of water! I didn't like that, after all that is not how you would treat a guest at your home. Overall the room was very clean and the bed very comfortable and quite.

Trip Type: Family Review 28 of 129can't wait to go back!
We had so much fun at the Dolce- Hayes Mansion. The place is beautiful, interesting, comfortable and clean! It was the best rate available while I was searching on Hotels.com. We just wanted to be able to go somewhere and swim, but I am so glad we didn't settle for the average hotel. The food was great, the staff, the grounds. Very nice place for kids. Ours are 4 and 5, and many other families had even younger kids.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 29 of 129Hidden Gem in San Jose
Stayed overnight to avoid driving back to the Peninsula during a 2-day stay in San Jose for a sport event at the Ice Center. Fantastic hotel. Huge rooms. Very quiet and comfortable. Nice and reasonably priced buffet. Great value. Lots of charm. Thinking of coming again to stay over for the weekend. My 7-year old daughter did not want to leave.

Trip Type: Family Review 30 of 129Great Hotel, off the beaten path location
We found this hotel at the last minute, on our way back from Lake Tahoe. I must say that I thought we had the wrong directions, when we got off the freeway and headed into the residential neighborhood. But sure enough, there was the mansion located at the end of the block. Beautiful grounds and a very interesting 3-story mansion. Rooms were very nice and the kids loved the pool and spa. If you don't mind being a little bit away from everything, the special rate was great and the grounds around the mansion were a great departure from the typical hotel and parking lot. Great for small or larger groups, as they turned many of the rooms of the mansion into meeting rooms.
