Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 1 of 29Needs a lot of improvement.
Old, run down hotel, needs a lot of improvement. Smoke alarm needed a new battery. Bathroom was really small and only 2 towels for 3 people. A rattlesnake has more personality than the night clerk. I don't think she spoke to me at all during check-in other than to say what room number. Cleaning staff was pleasant. Okay for a pinch, wouldn't want to book several nights in a row. Breakfast was okay. I would only recommend if you needed someplace cheap to stay for the night.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 2 of 29OKAY
The room was very clean. The beds were comfortable. The pool was closed . Some drunk knocked on the door at midnight, I had to call the police. The breakfast was so so, weak coffee, bagels. Better than nothing. Not bad for the money.

I booked this hotel because it was less than 1/2 of the price for all the other hotels within 20 minutes of Holiday World. There were flies in the room from an exterior garbage can near our door. The sink was not clean and my white socks were dirty on the bottom after walking around in the room, an indication that the floors were not clean. The bathroom was dated with peeling paint and paper. But I did not expect an updated room for the very low price I paid, which also included a continental breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful. They had maps and discounted tickets to Holiday World.

Trip Type: Family Review 6 of 29You get what you pay for. . .
From the reviews I knew this hotel was not going to be great. But we were going to Holiday World for a 2 day trip and we were not willing to spend the next available rate which was $75 at another hotel. The hotel is VERY OLD. They smoke in the desk area. The room was very outdated and in need of repair. You could tell a lot of things were rigged to work. The neighborhood seemed questionable, I think maybe some people even live at the motel as it was very busy. They gave me a smoking room, it did not allow me to choose when booking, then they tried to tell me that they did not have non smoking. There was an unknown substance sprayed or dripped across the mirror above the TV. Very noticeable not sure how the cleaning crew could've missed it. But then I noticed several other things in need of a deeper clean as well. The sheets seemed clean and it was late so we stayed, very uneasily. They door would not stay shut unless it was deadbolted. I would not have stayed there alone if my husband wouldn't have been there. We got in late, changed, went back out to eat, when we came back there was a man standing in front of our door talking on the phone. It scared me and that doesn't happen a lot. The pool was working and people were swimming in it (in their clothes). We were looking for a cheap way out and we got it.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 7 of 29NEEDS ALOT OF IMPROVEMENT
The breakfast was only muffins and toast and begals and donuts. They ran out of stuff by 8:30am and had nothing to replace for people to eat breakfast. We found roaches in our room and they only allowed 2 towels per room and there were 4 of us. The cover on the light in the bathroom fell during the night. This hotel should not be listed on hotels.com cause it is not a good hotel at all. The employees were rude at times.

Staff was friendly but of little help. Room was tidy and clean. Security chain for entry door was useless as the casing for the door had been broken from someone forcing in. The trim was just hanging by a couple of loose nails. The free HBO did not work and was out of service for both nights we stayed. Beds were good, clean and comfy. Wi-fi worked well. Towels were rough, swimming pool was nice and well maintained.

Trip Type: Family Review 10 of 29Great room for the money
Rooms (we had 2) were adequately comfortable and clean. The pool was enjoyed by 4 of our party of 7. The staff members were friendly and helpful. The coffee was not particularly good at the continental breakfast, but there were enough choices of breads, cereals, doughnuts, and juice to satisfy all of us. I would definitely stay here again.

Trip Type: Family Review 11 of 29Run Away ... FAR, FAR AWAY
Absolutely the worst hotel experience I have EVER had. When I walked into the lobby (after calling earlier that morning to confirm our confirmation), I was ignored by the night clerk for 5 minutes while she messed with her printer. After finally acknowledging that I was in the lobby, it took her another 5 minutes to ask "what do you want?" I told her I had a reservation, and she asked for my last name. I gave it to her, and, after she took her sweet time typing it into the computer - she told me that she wasn't showing a reservation in my name. I told her that I had called to verify it - and she told me that I must have been mistaken and called the wrong hotel. She went over and checked her room assignments ... and then said, "Oh, now I see why you weren't in the computer - I've already checked you in." When I told her that I had been at Holiday World all day - and was positive that I hadn't checked-in ... she said, "well, then who did I put in room 151?" She tried to call the room - but there was no answer. She asked to see my Driver's License, so I gave it to her. She looked in the computer several more times, and asked me how my name was spelled. I told her it was on the License. She looked again - and then said, "can I see your driver's license?" Wow ... I was stunned. After about 20 minutes of hassle, she finally decided to just put us in a room. I thought that would be the end of the disappointment. I was wrong. The room was supposed to be a non-smoking room - but reeked of cigarette smoke and mildew. There were dead bugs on the bathroom counter - and flies buzzing around in the bedroom. The plaster was falling off the ceiling - and huge chunks of paint had come off the walls. The carpet was nasty - and the dead-bolt didn't work on the door. There was no vent-fan in the bathroom - and the bathroom door stuck when closed. The hotel did have wireless access - which is about the only positive thing I can say about it. If you are ever in Tell City, Indiana

Trip Type: Family Review 13 of 29Very Disappointed
*Great price (the only nice thing I can say). *We were told that check in time was 2, when we got there, check in time was actually 4. *We booked a nonsmoking room, when we got there we were put in a smoking room. *I counted at least 50 flies on the ceiling when we entered the room. *We stayed for 3 nights. Our room was cleaned the first day, but our beds were not made the second day, and we were not given clean towels. *When we asked for clean towels and wash cloths, we were told there weren't any. *Every time we left the hotel and tried to reenter the room, our key would not work. *Police were called to the hotel because of a reported theft made by a guest against a maid. *Spend the extra money and stay somewhere else!
