Great Value

My room was large and very clean, had a large TV with about 100 cable channels, and was walking distance to downtown Alameda or 7 minutes by bus to downtown Oakland. Free coffee in the lobby. Checkout time is 11 am. There's no laundry facilities at the hotel, though there is a laundromat in downtown Alameda (5 blocks) open from 9 am to 9 pm, plus a few nearby dry cleaning shops. There are many restaurants and a Starbucks in the neighbourhood, but all close by 10 pm. The hotel is doing construction on the 2nd floor walkway (in Nov 2009), but that's not a problem. So recommend 1st floor if you have kids.

Rough Night

The clerk was friendly, but the bed was a nightmare. Woke up needing a doctor...really hard beds. Great location for walking around Alameda.

Bad phone manners

Watch out if you have a service animal. I called regarding my need for accomodation and was chastised for damage animals cause and strongly discouraged to bring my service animal, even though I offered medical documentation. The parking lot was flooded and entire second floor walkway was under construction, the tv didn't work, and the room was dingy. Room service maids were very nice & professional.

Needs much improvement

Hotel is under construction. Homeless man was digging through the dumpster in the parking lot then peed in the parking lot. This place is extremely sketchy and I do not recommend staying there.

Overall fine; 2 annoyances

The room itself was just fine, but two things were bothersome: the TV remote was not fully functional (no on/off or volume mute) and no replacement was available; either the room door or their keys were off...I had to struggle mightliy with entering every time I tried, and had to get the desk clerk 3 times. So, test your room key and demand another key and/or room right away if you don't want to be standing outside looking like a nitwit forever jerking the key in and out.

Great room for the money, Safe clean and convienient.

My stay wasn't comfortable

The air conditioner in my room did not work, and it happened to be a hot day! I had a miserable night out there.

Good Hotel for the Money

For the price and my situation, it was worth it. Clean, standard hotel. Pool was closed(and looks like it has been for a couple months) but swimable if your sneaky. Room service was quick, honest and friendly.

Room stunk like mildew.

The hotel wasn't bad I guess. For the money I expected a little more and I was shocked when we opened the door and were slapped with smell of mildew!!
