Trip Type: Business Review 18 of 613Not bad - price is right!
This hotel is ok - its about what you should expect for what they charge - its by no means a 4 star but its also not a fleabag motel either.

Trip Type: Family Review 21 of 613Ok for the price
If you get a room get it away from the street where you won't hear the freeway noise. The room was fine. The only thing they desperatley need to do is get rid of the disgusting carpet that was on the floor there. Other than that the location is great, only a few minutes drive to either places like Sea World, Old Town, or downtown, etc. The size of the room was just as good as some of the higher priced hotels so the value was ok. The room had a mini fridge and a coffee pot along with a safe (that we didn't use) but was nice to see that was provided. I like to run in the morning and was pleasantly surprised to find a good bike path behind some condos along the river. Though there are a few homeless out there this is not anywhere near the hotels.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 22 of 613Great room for money
The room was clean and the bedspread was updatd which helped the "older" hotel look new. Overall clean and well kept, would stay again just wish there could have been better locks on the hotel doors.

Trip Type: Family Review 24 of 613Good Deal for the Money
We stayed there for 2 nights in order to go to the beach (Pacific Beach 10 minute drive) and SeaWorld (5 minute drive). This hotel is so conveniently located amongst many restaurants and also very close to a mall. The maid service comes through very late in the day, so don't expect your room to be cleaned up by the time you return from your days activities. They actually knocked and wanted to come in and clean ours while we were showering after our day at the beach...ummm...NO. But other than that, I'd give this one a thumbs up and wouldn't pick another place.

Our room was great but had just been remodled. When they did that there was a tack thru the cable line so we didn't have TV for the first bit but the maintience guy was great and fixed that and our door handle quickly. I spoke to someone that stayed there the week before and was in an unremodled room and said it was pretty bad. The new rooms are clean, modern and a good value. We enjoyed our trip the location was great!!

Trip Type: Family Review 27 of 613"Great room for the money"
Nice, quiet hotel; convenient location to grocery stores, mall, restaurants; great kitchenette in room with sink, stove, oven, dishes, utensils, ref, & micro; convenient restaurant, guest laundry on site; helpful shuttle to nearby zoo & Sea World; initially difficult to get to by maps, some roadways confusing on/off freeway, but overall great stay!

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 28 of 613You Get What You Pay For
We got an incredible deal on the room, and since we were checking in late and checking out early, we did not really care about amenities. The problem was that the walls were thin and it sounded like the folks in the next room were wrestling elephants or practicing martial arts. I was up all night after a long drive and had a cold so I was looking forward to a peaceful night's sleep - did not happen. Our room overlooked a Motel 8 and fwy, dodgy neighborhood, at best. When we asked the front desk for directions to Starbucks, they directed us to an huge local mall - which would have been great if we wanted to spend our vacation navigating parking at the mall. We just wanted a quick coffee so we headed downtown instead. Next two nights are at Hilton Homewood Liberty Station - much better ahhhh and free wifi.

Trip Type: Family Review 30 of 613Okay for the money
We stayed here on a Thursday and Friday night in October. I think I could have gotten a nicer room for close to the same $$. No breakfast offered either. It was an older hotel and showed its age. Was supposed to have internet in the room but the signal was so weak that I never got it going. Only was in the lobby for check-in but wasn't too impressed with the front desk help. Asked if our room was farther off the road and was curtly told that I would have to move upstairs to get further back. That's fine, but it was the curtness that bothered me. No apology, etc. just the statement... The room was clean and they're doing their best with the age of the building.
