Trip Type: With Friends Review 16 of 466Very hip and fun!!
My wife and I were there for 4 days in October. We have stayed at the Amalfi, the Hyatt and the Ritz in Chicago. For the money, there is not better hotel in my opinion. The staff was incredibly nice, the rooms are very tasteful (if you like contemporary style). We wanted to stay at a hotel that was fun and had life. We are 28 years old so we dont go to sleep at 9:00. The rooftop bar is amazing. Great drinks, loud music (kind of too loud) but fun atmosphere. The restaurants are all incredible too. Overall it is where I will stay when I go back...

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 17 of 466Great Staff, Great Hotel!
We found this to be an excellent location to enjoy Chicago. Especially because the staff were extremely helpful giving us detailed information before we arrived. The decor is excellent in the public areas as well as the rooms. We found this to be a very comfortable place to stay. We would absolutely stay at the Dana again.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 18 of 466Great hotel, if you can afford it
The Dana was an absolutely lovely hotel. We got a pretty good deal price-wise, but still paid enough that I would expect the great quality and service that we received. It was in an area of Chicago that I am familiar with, so I liked the location. It's a few blocks from Michigan Avenue, near some very good restaurants. Every staff member we encountered was polite, friendly, and helpful when we needed help. The bed was very comfortable, but the room itself was a little too stark and modern for my taste. (I didn't like the bare, gray cement ceiling.) The room overall was a bit small, but as we didn't spend much time there, it didn't matter. We did not eat at the restaurant. We did visit the top floor bar/lounge. It was nice, but a little too young for us 40-somethings. Had a great view of the city.

Trip Type: Business Review 22 of 466trendy hotel
great hotel and trendy with the new renovations. rooms were small but had all that was needed and with good views of the city, setup like a studio apt with a glass shower as a division. i asked for a room not below the night club on the top floor since the poor reviews with noise of the rooms there. rooms were very nice, but mostly concrete and hardwood made outside noise travel more easily. no refrigerator in room was the only downfall of the room. DO NOT EAT IN HOTEL! the food there was terrible, a trendy Asian fusion restaurant that was not a good fusion of anything. sushi was odd and they did not have any traditional sushi. other items on menu were few and expensive. if you want good food though there are several great area near by.

Trip Type: Family Review 24 of 466Very Friendly Boutique Hotel
This hotel is very easy to find and the staff is most helpful and friendly. The rooms (we had 3 for our group) were extremely comfortable, clean and well-stocked. The rooftop lounge was the perfect spot for a nightcap ... edgy music, phenomenal view and a heated outdoor area for stargazing. I would definitely return the next time we're in Chicago!

This hotel was fabulous! Rooms were great, the hardwood floors in the rooms were a really cool surprise. great beds, great turn-down service and the staff was wonderful. I would stay here again in a heartbeat, it was one of the best hotel experiences I've had, and I travel alot. Highly recommended.

Trip Type: Business Review 26 of 466Pretentious without substance
This hotel was trying to be very chic and trendy but, with the exception of the bellboys, was terrible in the customer service department. The security keycard is needed at all times--in order to make the elevator go, for instance. If you want to go to the bar on the roof (way over-rated with terrible service), you need to go down to the concierge and have him put a special key in the elevator to get you there. All the extra security seems unnecessary--one big security guard at the main entrance should have done it. The amazing fitness center that they advertise is very clean, but pedestrian. This is a "poser" hotel and I would not stay there again.

Trip Type: Business Review 27 of 466Outstanding Hotel - Fair Price - Hip Hotel
Contemporary hotel - courteous staff. Entry level into hotel leads to a bar. One flight up leads to registration. Music playing while registering makes it feel more like a night club then a hotel. Quiet Rooms!!!! Great Staff.

Trip Type: Romance Review 28 of 466Affordable Upscale Accommodations
We really enjoyed the hotel. The only negative of the room was that it smelled moldy and at times was overbearing in the smell. There appeared to be some water damage on the walls in our room. Otherwise it was very upscale for the price. Hip and fun hotel with friendly staff.

Trip Type: Romance Review 29 of 466Excellent Hotel
By far this is the best hotel I have ever stayed at in Chicago. It is only a couple of blocks from the best shopping on Michigan Ave. The L red/brown line is only a couple of blocks away (easy to get to Wrigley Field). The room had lots of ammenities including an IPOD Docking station, free Internet service (wireless and wired), an affordable mini bar and a nice wine selection in your room! Parking was a bit difficult (valet only), but, you do not really need a car unless you need to go to the suburbs. I cannot wait to stay here again!
