    Very small rooms in this historic building. 1st night we had to move rooms because the air conditioner was not working and there were no windows to open, and this was in October with 50 degree weather. Can't complain because they did move us to a suite. The best concierge we have EVER had, Gerrard, and his 2 coherts were worth the stay. The historic district of Lyon is full of shops & museums & restaurants, but don't forget to explore the rest of this fabulous city.

    This hotel met and exceeded expectations. The public spaces were dramatic and appealing, the location was optimal and the outdoor (four level terraced) gardens were an unexpected treat. That said, the thing that stood out was the service provided by the concierge. Our brief stay in Lyon (for the first visit) was greatly enhanced by his suggestions, directions and willingness to serve. This is a hotel the "works".

Location. The designer Cour Des Loges hotel is located in a cobbled lane in the centre of Lyon, France. The Saint Jean Cathedral is just 200 metres away, as is the Vieux Lyon Metro station.

Hotel Features. Set in a former Jesuit college, the Cour Des Loges hotel combines Renaissance-style architecture with contemporary decor. The hotel's glass-roofed courtyard houses a restaurant with hand-painted frescoes, modern artworks and lifts up to three towers. The hotel is a favourite with celebrities like Michael Jackson and Henry Kissinger.

The hotel's Les Loges restaurant serves refined cuisine combining tradition and imagination in the glass-covered central courtyard. An original restaurant concept is offered at the Café-Epicerie, featuring an award-winning chef.

The Jeu de Paume conference room can accommodate up to 84 people. It features 15th-century columns and views over the courtyard. There are six other conference rooms including the frescoed Salon Agapes, with its grand fireplace. High-speed Internet connections are available (surcharge).

Guestrooms. The Cour Des Loges hotel's 61 climate-controlled guestrooms are decorated with antique and contemporary furniture, and frescoes by Hervé Thibault. All rooms have parquet flooring and views of the courtyard or the Rue du Boeuf. Rooms feature satellite television, minibars and wireless Internet access (surcharge). The Phillippe Starck-designed bathrooms offer baths big enough for two.

Expert Tip. A network of secret underground tunnels, the Traboules, criss-cross beneath the streets of the Renaissance-quarter streets that surround the Cour Des Loges hotel.
