Beautiful bungalows and wonderful hosts

My friend and I recently rented a bungalow for our Cahuita vacation. We had an amazing time. The location is perfect and we couldn't have been happier with the accommodations. The bungalow was beautiful, clean and had an amazing bathroom. There was also a big front porch overlooking the beautiful gardens with a hammock and rocking chairs. It was a perfect place to relax and watch the wildlife. Joe and Chris were gracious hosts and served truly delicious breakfasts with lots of fresh fruits and fresh baked breads. They were knowledgeable and helped us book tours, but were also very respectful of the tenants' privacy. Their dog Lady was also a fun companion! The location was great, just a short walk to Playa Negra and about a 15 minute walk to town and the Cahuita National Park. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a rustic, adventure-filled trip. It is definitely a more remote part of the country, so be prepared for a 4 hour bus ride (or a once daily shuttle) from San Jose. Also be prepared that there is no AC anywhere.
