Description
See more detailsLocation. Renovated in 2006 and centrally located in Barcelona's Old Town, the Confortel Almirante is a modern, nine-storey townhouse set 150 metres from the beguiling Gothic Quarter's 14th- century cathedral and 500 metres from Plaça de Catalunya. Barcelona Airport is 16 kilometres away, with an approximate driving time of 20 minutes.
Hotel Features. Multilingual staff at the Confortel Amirante's 24-hour front desk are on hand to offer advice on sightseeing opportunities in the local area, which is home to many of Barcelona's top attractions. Complimentary newspapers available in the lobby, wireless Internet access is available throughout the hotel. The hotel also houses a bar, and drinks and snacks are available via room service (limited hours). Other amenities include currency exchange, dry-cleaning services and business facilities.
Guestrooms. The hotel offers 73 air conditioned guestrooms located on nine floors, all of which are accessible by lift. All guestrooms feature modern decor in warm colours and include wireless Internet access, satellite television, minibars, direct-dial telephones and early-morning coffee. Bathrooms come with shower/tub combinations.
Expert Tip. Guests can step out of the hotel and explore the enticing warren of streets that make up the Barri Gòtic, widely considered to be Europe's most perfectly preserved medieval quarter. A visit to the remarkable cathedral can be followed by a circular walk tracing the line of the walls that enclose the Roman settlement established here in 15 BC, while the Museu d'Història de la Ciutat is home to the Europe's largest underground excavation of a Roman site.
