Don't judge a book

When we first arrived @ the hotel the first impression was not good. The paint was peeling and lobby well worn.The elevator up to the 5th floor was also a bit disheartening.Then we opened the door to our room. It had a great view of the ocean & sound side of the island from a non-oceanfront room.The room was nicely kept,beds comfy, and A/C nice & cool.The continental breakfast was typical,waffles,cereal,doughnuts.Access to the beach from the second floor was under construction,however a walk around the hotel to the beach was hardly painful.In all, good value for the money & keep in mind what salt water, & lots of foot traffic does to a hotel.

Needs Improvement

The hotel looks as if it is falling apart, very disappointed with this. The elevators are in poor repair, we took 6 flights of stairs to avoid them. The deck area is caved in and should of been repaired long ago. No immediate access to beach had to walk around hotel. I would think the hotel would have been kept in shape instead it looks like it is falling apart!!!!!

Good Location

I travel a lot and this Comfort Inn is one of the least maintained ones I have seen. The air conditioner in our room leaked so we had had a wet spot in the room and the paint was badly chipped on the balcony which gave it a very dirty and rusty feel. The room had a great ocean front view but had little to no frills.

the rooms were old and dingy, but the service is great and hospitable.

Great view, not so great rooms

The view was incredible. The rooms were pretty bad for the money. The first room we were given had a lock on the door that someone had tried to jimmy open. The second room wasn't much better. The carpet was very thin. The toilet was very stained. Overall, the hotel felt old, even though it seems like it should have been renovated.

Excellent Place at the Beach

This hotel experience was one of the best I have ever received! The kind and curteous front desk service went out of their way to make sure that everything was accomodating. The overall cleanliness of the room and hotel was equally as well taken care of, and the views of the oceanfront, breathtaking. I will never stay anywhere else when traveling to the beach. Thank you for a pleasurable experience!

Great Room for the Money

Everything was great about the hotel until checkout day. The toilet stopped working and they cut off our hotel room key 1 hour before checkout and couldn't get back into our room after loading up the truck. They didn't try to provide any compensation for this inconvenience and were quite rude.

Hotel Needs Repairs

I had stayed at this Hotel before and was disappointed this time. The hotel has suffered damages from a storm and needs a lot of work. The beach access was blocked because half of the deck is "gone". The door to the balcony had to be lifted and slammed to shut it because of the shift in the hotel. The shower pole was falling out of the wall and the ceiling in the shower was rough looking. Then our quiet getaway was interrupted on Friday night by our new neighbours that were very loud, talking in the hall ways and yelling off the balcony to someone on the beach. Oh and last but not least the television was set somehow to come on at "7AM"every morning, so much for getting some rest. Until this hotel takes care of some of these problems I can not recommend this hotel.
