Love This Hotel

I have stayed at many hotels in the St Louis area and none compare to this one. As a single women travelling for business I like the safety features, the indoor entry to my room and the overall neighborhood. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The people who work there are kind and helpful. The breakfast in the morning is excellent and the drink coupons at night, start my evening of relaxation.

Going downhill needs a remodel and updating.

Hotel is lacking basic upkeep and modern features such as washable bedspreads. The hallways are too dark with doorways inset and I think it would be a bit scary to a woman traveling alone.

Mixed but would stay again

Our room was big enough for four people. The room looked a bit worn but was clean. Bed was softer than I like, but the kids didn't mind it. The landscape behind the hotel was beautiful. The work out room needs a lot of help. The food was so-so, but for the price we paid for the room, we would stay again.

Still a good value

Although the general upkeep of the rooms seems to have suffered a bit since my last stay in January '09, the overall value was still acceptable. However, the matress needs replacement and the floors need a vacuum and the furniture a careful dusting of all surfaces.

Good hotel needs investment in upkeep

I like the hotel; good location, hires good personnel and my room generally clean & comfortable. I've stayed multiple times and always see where ownership needs to invest in maintenance & upkeep. This stay, trim strip around exterior room door [opposite my room] had been ripped off & not replaced. The appearance of the hotel needs to be refreshed.

Creepy!

Hotel was not bad, but the halls were creepy! You could totally get lost in the hallways if you aren't careful!

Great room for the money

The room was okay but the hallway smelled funny.

Not so great

The hotel building was very old. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Our bed and the floor were old and dirty. The air conditioner made the room air very uncomfortable and we were woken couple of times. There was no internet connection in the room even with the ethernet cable. I had to call tech support and he told me it was a known issue with that hotel and he didn't expect the connection to be back up at all.(He even told me the hotel should have told me before I had booked the room) I found out a lot of guests had to bring their laptops close to the front desk to get the wireless signal. While we were staying there for 2 nights, we saw 2 front desk ladies. Both were African-Americans, one with glasses and the other one without glasses. The one without glasses was very rude as if she didn't even notice the customers. Even when she was talking to the customers she looked like she was upset or something. We talked with her 3 different occasions but her attitude were consistently bad. We were so glad to get the heck out of her face. So, bad maintenance with the bad customer service say it all for this hotel.

A Value at the price!

Overall, enjoyed the hotel. Room was big to accomodate 3 adults and 2 dogs and was very quiet. Breakfast was ok and the evening happy hour was a plus with the bartender being very personable. Only negative was room did not get cleaned the first day, but cleaned well the second day.

Needs Improvement

Phone in room didn't work; Wireless internet service didn't work- had to walk down and use Ethernet cable, coffee pot in room broken, mattress uncomfortable
