Trip Type: Family Review 16 of 47Great Value
The best value in London. If you have interest in historical aspects of The City this is a great location. It was very close to the Old Grey Lady of Threadneedle, The Royal Exchange, and the Lloyds building. We enjoyed exploring the alley ways behind the hotel, apparently there's a ghost. We stayed on a bank holiday weekend so finding food had to be done farther a field, but the hotel is very close to bus and Tube.

Trip Type: Family Review 18 of 47Great Location
We were a little worried because of the other comments that it was a bit out of the way and that the neighborhood was dead at night. We didn't think so at all. The Metro station is right there and it is so easy to just jump on and get to where ever you need to go. The neighborhood is quite lively Monday - Friday night, but not much is happening on Sat. or Sun. We just chose to go into the city those nights, so it just wasn't an issue.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 19 of 47Location, Location, Location
The major problem with this hotel is the location. If you are in London on financial business, it is ideal. Any other reason and it is inconvenient. The problem arises at night when all the local restaurants and pubs close (and they are all closed all weekend long) so you are stuck getting on the tube to go someplace where there is life. Room service is outrageously expensive.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 20 of 47Affordable Weekend Rates, Good Location, Clean
Weekend and holiday rates are reasonable. Would not pay the double rate during week. Good location, clean, friendly staff. Didn't mind location was dead on w/e. Just took tube west to the action.

In the "city" so no neighborhood amenities after hours or at weekends. Self-catering hotel as promised with good internet access.

Trip Type: Business Review 25 of 47Good price, bad service
There are no safes in the rooms. We decided to put valuables in safe, but always had to wait up to 20 minutes to get things in and out because front desk was busy. One day we left our room at 2pm and it was not cleaned after we left. When we returned that evening,we called to get towels and the front desk argued with us saying we left after 3pm and no rooms are cleaned after that time. They brought us new towels, but only after we had to argue to get them.

Reception was stone cold. I was told that there would be a sur charge for an early check-in. Surprise! This was a first for me; afterall, if the room is not occupied and available why not let the customer in? Even though the desk clerk pulled up my record on their computer, I was directed and accompanied to a kiosk to complete the check-in process. The kiosk didn't work and I spent the next five minutes waiting around while the clerk tried to fix the problem. Since she wasn't able to do so, back we both went to the registration desk to complete the check-in. The process took much longer than necessary with no apology. The room was spartan at best. I would have given it high marks for cleanliness except that there was a collection of toe nail clippings on the carpet next to the bed. Housekeeping was less than adequate. There was no replenishment of shower gel and wash cloths became non-existent after the first night. The only redeeming virtue came at check-out (no attempt at a kiosk check-out) where the early checkin charge was ignored.

Trip Type: Romance Review 29 of 47Fantastic Hotel
My wife and I stayed at CQ Gracechurch over a long weekend. We found the room, and location to be excellent. The room was very comfortable for the two of us. The space we had was more than adequate. The room was very clean, and additional towels were easily accessible from the linen closet near the room. The bottled water outside the elevator was brilliant. Automatic check-in and check out was a breeze, and the friendly front desk clerk greeted us at the door to make the check-in process virtually idiot proof. The Monument Tube Station is a short walk away. Although most stores and restaurants in the area are closed on the weekend, we welcomed the quiet after a long day in the busier areas of the city. The Westminster and Piccadilly areas are easily accessible on just a short 10 minute ride on the Underground. The pub next door to CQ is open on Saturdays and we highly recommend it for lunch. We would most definitely stay here again. Well done.
