Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 17 of 143Very good hotel!
I was very pleased with my stay at this hotel. The staff was very helpful and nice. The room was clean and had a lot of extra staff (coffee maker, ironing board, iron etc). They have free breakfast in the morning starting from 7 AM and I was very surpirsed with the variety of items on the buffet menu. Overall, I am very happy with my stay and I would recommend this hotel to everyone!

Clean, very comfortable bed, friendly staff. Breakfast could have been better. Subway right across the street and cute pub around thec orner for late night drink and food. Would go back again.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 19 of 143Great Hotel
We found this hotel to be excellent for the money we paid. The air conditioner in our room did not work but outside temps were comfortable enough. The proximity to the subway was a plus. The staff were very helpful in giving directions. All things considered, our trip was very pleasant and our stay here was part of that.

Trip Type: Romance Review 21 of 143Great Hotel and Great Price
The Clarion Hotel and Suites was a great place to stay for the price. It is relatively close to all of the tourist attractions and downtown. The walk is nice and there are some interesting sights along the way. Our room was very comfortable and clean. Staff were courteous. Parking was a mess, but it is assigned for a fee.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 23 of 143Good value
This hotel is in an old mansion on Sherbourne, just below Bloor, on the far east side of downtown Toronto. There are several blocks of not so interesting walking to get to Yonge Street and more of the entertainment district, but with public transportation it is manageable. The hotel itself is comfortable, well stocked, and rather ramshackle. Lots of interesting period detail in the front part, but the rooms are in a rear annex which while clean needs serious work. However, it was a great value, and service was excellent.

Trip Type: Romance Review 25 of 143Recommended for young people
I booked this hotel for a trip with my boyfriend. We are in our 20s, and we got a great rate, and the hotel suited us just fine. It was clean and the location was near a subway, but also walking distance from the city. A family may not find the hotel suitable or comfortable enough, but I think it's appropriate for young people looking to get the best value out of their money.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 27 of 143for the price-a good stay
Great location. Hotel is a bit on the tired side, but adequate for the price. I would stay these again if I was on a budget. Staff was very helpful.

Trip Type: Business Review 28 of 143Hotel is OK
This hotel is very simple and someone antiquated. This was my second stay here, and probably the main reason for coming again was price and familiarity. It's a couple of miles from downtown Toronto, which isn't too bad if you have a rental car. The breakfast is simple but not bad (mostly waffles, cereal, and apples). The beds are a little firm for me. There is plenty of counter space in the bathroom, which is nice. They were having a pretty serious phone issue during my stay that had not happened previously. It kept ringing throughout one night and continued waking me up about every hour until I finally told them to make it stop. Bizarrely, there were about 20 voicemails the next day that were either blank or had recordings of the hotel's own hold music. Finally, they have an old-style elevator here that I think is just the coolest thing. It's one where you have to open a door and pull back a second retractable door, which is annoying with luggage but kind of nostalgic otherwise.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 29 of 143Cheap in Every Way
We got this hotel for a very cheap rate and felt it might have been a great deal since the pictures looked great. Unfortunately, there was more than one reason we paid so little. The room met none of the criteria we had requested, there was little parking (though you did have to pay $13 a day for it) and what was there was almost to dangerous to navigate, the surrounding neighborhood was a little scary at night, and the location was so far away from any local attractions or transit we were forced to drive everywhere. Our room was in the basement (where many of the rooms are located) which made it very dark and dungon-like since leaving the curtains open meant the people walking by on the street could see everything. It was ok for the few nights we stayed, but I would not go back.
