Trip Type: With Friends Review 1 of 116great value
Most other hotels at this price in Chicago are rather seedy. This hotel offers clean rooms, conveniently located. Great place just to crash; however do not plan a romantic night in here. Perfect if you're going out most of the night and just need a clean bed and clean bathroom.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 2 of 116fine hotel in good location
Good location, safe area, great food next door and convenient location to downtown. No parking lot but managed to find parking on the street. Room sparse and minimal but fine, especially if you just need somewhere to crash. Very minimal amenities provided but again there was nothing that was really missing either.

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 116never again
we staid there because it was sort of convenient to McCormick place and reasonably priced but the hotel didn't meet even minimum requirements. The place is run down, no elevator, dingy, banged up furniture, bad internet conncetion, and about 8 TV channels, 5 of them in Chinese, one in Spanish and the rest shopping channels. No hairdryer in the room (I scored one by calling reception, had to go down myself, though to pick it up because nobody could be bothered to bring it up), no light on the nightstand (annoying!), etc. My colleague came back one day to find the door to his room was wide open - apparently the cleaning personnel left it open to make it easier to go around and do their job. His computer was in there, other belogings, etc. nothing was missing but scary nonetheless. My room looked out on the street which ceated some issues with noise late at night but was a luxury suite compared to the one my colleague had which looked out onto a wall and was so small he could barely turn around. Most roadside motels are fancy compared to this hotel. Positive things: cheap for Chicago, lots of Chinese restaurants around, bed and bath reasonably clean.

Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 4 of 116Basic Sleeping Quarters...
I would not recommend this hotel to the non-adventurous. The benefit of staying here is LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION. It is a block for the red line, which zips you to anywhere in the city, perfect for baseball fans. Parking is a bear and there are ZERO amenities, but everything worked at least. Oh, it is pretty cheap too! Good food in the neighborhood, obviously only if you like Chinese Quisine!

Great location, safe neighborhood, friendly staff, clean room... what else more could you want if you're just looking for a place to crash?

Trip Type: Business Review 7 of 116For Its Location
Room was questionably clean but minimally acceptable because of it location and comparative cost. Nice staff, no frills, little to no up-keep or cleaning beyond bare minimum to turn over room. I’d say you get what you pay for; but, except in comparison to the alternatives (which are much less conveniently located) you don’t get much.

very close to transit, great chinatown location - have stayed there one other time and went back, but it was somewhat disappointing. You get what you pay for.

Trip Type: Business Review 9 of 116Needs Improvement
This is an old hotel and has the smells of same. The multi-story hotel has no elevator, thus if you stay here, it is best to ask for a first floor room, which is still a walk up 1 flight of stairs. The bathroom was fine, maid service fine, heating was provided by a portable plug in. Best thing was that the CTA train station was around the corner and only about a 30 min ride directly to Midway Airport. The other good part is that McCormick Place is only about a 15 minute walk, so great if you're attending a Chgo trade show on a budget. Ask the desk for referrals to inexpensive but great local dining. It's possible to eat a great meal for under $5.

Trip Type: Business Review 10 of 116Works for the price
Definitely not the Ritz Carlton, but it is like half the price of any other Hotels.com listed hotel in downtown Chicago and for the price it's a pretty decent hotel. Staff was friendly and the place was safe and clean. I was only there a night but I ate a great Chinese place that wasn't but a stone's throw away. My only real complaint is that the listing says guest parking available, which I guess is technically correct if you count the street. However this is downtown Chicago so finding street parking is akin to winning the lottery, which oddly enough I managed to do.

Trip Type: Business Review 11 of 116You Get What You Pay For
This is really more of a hostel than a hotel, although all of the guests I saw were adults, mostly Asian. The hotel is old, as is the furniture, bedding, carpets, plumbing, etc. The only heat came from a space heater. Surprisingly, I saw no roaches or rodents. The "lounge" consisted of hot and cold water, and one computer with a broken printer. If you don't mind cheap accommodations, you're in for some fabulous chines food and the fun and culture of Chinatown. I stayed here because I had a convention nearby and didn't want to pay two to three times the price. But, I got what I paid for.

Trip Type: Business Review 12 of 116Great for the price
The staff was courteous, and the bathroom and bed was clean. It wasn't the swankiest and the rug could have used a good cleaning and the walls could have been repainted, but for the money, i was expecting worse. I would stay here again. Great food in chinatown nearby too.

Trip Type: Business Review 13 of 116Ok room and service for the money, convenient location
Staff were friendly. Location for great due to proximity to McCormick Place. No 21 bus takes you there within 5 minutes. Also Red line station is within a block, and you can reach downtown Chicago within 10 minutes. Room was very basic and small but clean. About 10 English language, 2-3 Chinese and 2-3 Latino channels on TV. Carpets in the corridors and in the room needs changing.

extra convenient to transportation, McCormick Center, and local Chinese restaurants/ bakeries (for morning dim sum or evening meals). Excellent local color experience. Rugs a little musty; bathrooms clean; clean linen; courteous staff; sufficiently high-speed internet access included. No elevator access, but expected. Unique metal key doorlock to room.
