Trip Type: Business Review 16 of 100Great for Conferences
The hotel was nicely appointed and clean, the staff was helpful, and the bar was convenient. Though the location isn't amazing it is in convenient walking distance of McCormick place at 40% of the cost of the convention center hotels. The parking was free, and it was an easy bus ride into Chicago. I would stay again.

Trip Type: Business Review 17 of 100bad location
The staff was excellent and the room adequate for the price. Sadly, the location is just short of frightening. We were told it was .5 miles from the McCormick center and that we could walk. Actually, there is a freeway between them and it took 30 minutes to walk and even for a city street smart girl it made my heart race. NOT SAFE at all.

Trip Type: Business Review 18 of 100Great Bargin
I had to come to Chicago for a big conference and I was looking at a cheap but confortable hotel. Hotel.com helped me and the Chicago Loop was very very nice. The only thing that I didn't like was the front staff attitude (seems angry and not very professional when I check-in) and also they knock at the door at 9am to see if you are still in... when the check-out is at 11am. Nevertheless, it was a great experience, great price, great place, near my conference and parking was free! Thanks

Trip Type: Special Event Review 21 of 100Great Stay
I was very impressed with this hotel. It was very convenient to walk to McCormick Place and about a 20 minute walk to downtown. Easy cab access. The room was great, the tub is huge. The only negative was that there was no coffee maker in the room.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 22 of 100Way better than expected
I read the other reviews about this hotel and made my reservation with trepidation. Since I needed a hotel close to downtown, I booked my room so late, and all other hotels were full, I figured I'd have to put up with the negatives. I just needed a place to sleep. All my fears were unfounded. The room was large, the beds comfortable, the parking was free! My only complaint is the room was on the east side of the hotel, and the El green line is one block away across State St., and the train runs most of the night. It was loud enough to disturb light sleepers. Stay on the west side of the hotel and you will be fine. Also, the staff was most helpful except for the blond-haired older woman working Monday morning. She needs a lesson in customer service. Overall, I give the hotel two thumbs up. I'd stay there again, no questions.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 24 of 100Bus stop out front makes this a great option
for the money we spent on this room it was a great option for Chicago. there's a bus line (which runs until 230am) that stops right out front of the hotel, so the fact that it's a bit out of the way in an area with not much else is easily forgotten.

Trip Type: Business Review 25 of 100Great room for the money
I went to Chicago for a business convention, all the other hotels were very expensive. When I found the Chicago South Loop Hotel for a great price, compering with the others in the same area, I was skeptical. But when we got there we had a great surprised, we received a very good service, they have a nice lobby, and when we got to the room it was a good size and comfortable room. I definitely recommend this hotel!! The only thing that was not perfect was the location, a little old and twenty minutes from downtown. But my overall experience was great.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 27 of 100Worked Well to see Oprah
This hotel is convenient to downtown area where we were going to see Oprah. The staff was very very helpful and nice. The hotel is older and not the cleanest place I have stayed. But, it was worth the price.

Trip Type: Business Review 28 of 100great room for the money
I was very pleasantly surprised. There was a sitting area, large bedroom area, large tub in the full bath and at least 12 outlets for equipment. The hotel was clean and very quiet, even though it is close to the elevated tracks. The staff was friendly and helpful.
