Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 155Great Hotel
Great hotel, I was transferred to Cherry Tree by another hotel who I had reservations with who closed for the season early. I now have a new hotel to stay out.

Trip Type: Family Review 2 of 155friendly and confortable
Staff was very accomidating and friendly. Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Could use more art on the walls and room accents...seemed somewhat sparce for a suite.

Trip Type: Family Review 3 of 155Great Find
Great price and great location. Very well kept with the exception of the fitness room. Treadmill on last legs and two other pieces of antique fitness equipment. This was the only negative comment I have. View from Hotel is fantastic and ammentities are very nice. Will stop again.

Trip Type: Romance Review 6 of 155Large Room and Amazing View!
My husband and I have stayed at Cherry Tree Inn many times for our anniversary and I have also stayed there with my family when I was younger. That's how impressed we are with this hotel! The service is wonderful, the rooms are always clean and the best part is that the rooms are so much more roomy than a standard hotel room. The view of the water is gorgeous and now they have beach access! This hotel is centrally located so it's easy to go wine tasting or to the casinos. The convenience of being located on the main strip makes it easy to go anywhere. We've stayed at many hotels in Traverse City and now that we've found one that far exceeds the quality of the neighboring hotels, we will definitely return!

Trip Type: Romance Review 7 of 155Cherry Tree Inn
Overall, was very pleased with our stay. Hotel is very nice and is in a good location - the special packages are something to keep your eye on for deals. Well worth it for the place you are staying in. Large rooms, good continental breakfast and friendly staff. Would definitely go back to the Cherry Tree Inn & Suites and hopefully will be back in the winter months.

Trip Type: Family Review 8 of 155Front desk requests
The first night we were there we had to call down to the front desk to see how to turn the parental control off on the DVD player. They said to try inputting the code 1234 and if that did not work put in 1111 or 2222, etc. We tried that and it still did not work. I called back down to the front desk and they said they would need to call the manager and would give us a call in about 15 mintues. They never did call us back. We were able to get it figured out on our own. Other than that the stay at the hotel was a very good stay. We would definitely stay there again.

Hello! Thank you for your review of our hotel. I'm sorry for the unacceptable service my Front Desk staff provided. I will address this issue with them immediately and it will be resolved not to happen again. I'm glad everything else was good and I hope you had a safe trip home. Best, Jonathan P. Trip Type: Romance Review 9 of 155Needs attention
Overall, we were very happy with our stay. The staff was very friendly and accomodating, the facility clean & comfortable, and a great location. The only negative would be the breakfast fare. It was very crowded our first morning, and the breakfast bar was lacking in variety and some platters were empty. Though, again, this may have been because of the number of people trying to eat at the same time. Our second & third mornings, we visited the Bob Evans conveniently located down the street. This was certainly not something that would cause us to not return, though. I've already recommended the hotel to other people.
Hotel Response
Hello! Thank you for your review and I'm glad you enjoyed most everything with your stay. Regarding breakfast, I'm sorry that it was very crowded in the room. We do have three areas for seating that we offer to guests and have signs for. Also, our breakfast includes a variety of breads, hard-boiled eggs, apple streusel crumb cake, donuts, fresh fruit, coffee, juices, hot and cold cereals, ready-to-make waffles, and either sausage and egg patties or biscuits and sausage gravy. I'm sorry that some items were out. Our breakfast attendant does stock frequently unless it's after the closing of the breakfast at 10 A.M. I'm sorry that this variety didn't fit your needs and we will look to see if we can change anything around to help you on future stays. I hope everything else was good in Traverse City and that you had a safe trip home. Best, Jonathan P. Front Desk Manager

the private beach is over-hyped. great hotel, but head for the public beach to enjoy the lakeshore.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 11 of 155Great Place to stay
The staff was great and the room was clean and comfortable. However, when we arrived the bathroom looked like it had been used so we called and had them clean it - twice because the first time they just wiped it down and didn't clean the inside of the bowl.
Hotel Response
Hello! Thank you for your review. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay, but I'm embarrassed for the condition that you found the bathroom. I will give your review to our general manager and we will address it with housekeeping. Sorry for the initial inconvenience, but I hope you enjoyed the rest of your time. Best, Jonathan P. Trip Type: Family Review 13 of 155Nice Hotel
The Cherry Tree is a nice, basic hotel with friendly front desk staff. We had a large King Suite overlooking the water. The suite was huge, however, the two twin beds were actually a sofa with a twin trundle bed. Also, the beach is nice, but tiny and you have to walk through weeds and mud to get to the beach.

Trip Type: Romance Review 14 of 155Loved my room, but...
My husband and I loved our room, we had one of the suites. The bed was comfortable, the spa was fantastic, the fireplace was perfect (since the weather was unseasonably cold). The view was great, enough so that I took too many pictures of it! The front desk staff was great. I loved that when someone called, they politely asked if they could call them back, as they had people at the desk. Too many places make the person standing in front of them wait while they answer call after call. It was a refreshing change to see the person standing there was a valued customer, not just the potential customers calling. My only complaint was the continental breakfast. From other reviews, I had expected, while not lavish, at least pleasant. The bread appeared fresh and they did have a toaster. They also had a waffle iron, but the line for it was too long for me to wait. The hard boiled eggs, however, were JUST SHY OF FROZEN! It's one thing to boil and peel the eggs and leave them in the fridge the night before, but they really were almost frozen. And I found their coffee somehow to be both bland and incredibly bitter. My husband and I had just the one breakfast there, then we found a Burger King for our remaining mornings. However, with the warning of the breakfast, I would heartily recommend this hotel to anyone else. The view and the accommodations were well worth the price!
Hotel Response
Hello! Thank you for your review, and I'm glad you enjoyed your room, the service, and the facility. Thank you telling us your concerns with the breakfast, and I'm sorry that the hard boiled eggs weren't prepared correctly. That isn't normal and we have addressed it already and we haven't seen it occur again. We do have two waffle irons for the ready-to-make waffles, but I'm sorry there was a large amount of demand for waffles the mornings you were here. We will watch this and see if we can come up with a better solution. I will also note your concern for the coffee. We know that coffee is truly a hard one to get perfect for everyone, but we do note concerns and make changes when we feel it is affecting a large amount of our guests. Thank you again for your review. If you come up again and look for another breakfast place, we like to recommend Mabel's and the Omelette Shoppe. Both are local and have wonderful homemade goods! Have a nice fall. Best, Jonathan P. Front Desk Manager

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 15 of 155So-so value
The hotel was a good value for the rate we received. Except...The beach smelled like a horse farm by the bay--the sand was wet and stinky by the water. Our room wasn't as clean as expected, one day the housekeeper didn't come until 4pm. The pool was green. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful.
Hotel Response
Thank you for your review of our hotel. I'm sorry for the condition of our beach. We received a permit at the end of June, so we are in the process of redeveloping it to make it nicer, but this is a long, long process when working with the state and federal governments. We're sorry for the inconvenience to your stay, but the smell is now gone. Regarding our pool, I'm sorry that you thought it was green. We do daily checks of chemicals every morning at 8:00 A.M. and we do a weekly check on Sundays performed by an outside testing facility that checks our pool and hot tub waters for germs and irregularities. There hasn't been a time all summer that the chemicals have come off wrong or possibly dangerous to our guests. The pool water does have a bright blue color to it as most pools do, but I'm sorry that you thought it was green. We will certainly watch for this, though, because we take every guest concern seriously, especially concerns that regard safety. I am glad that our Front Desk staff was friendly and helpful and I will be sure to let our general manager know your concerns regarding housekeeping. We are making strides to improve their efficiency and they are getting better. Best, Jonathan P. Front Desk Manager
