Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 1 of 35Great room for the money
We only stayed 1 night there as we were only going to be at the resort to prepare for our trip on the Kalalau trail. The room is big but definetely needs updating. we had a view of the resort from our hotel room balcony but no view of the ocean. As we really didn't care about the location, I would not recommend the cheapest room available if you were planning on staying there for your entire vacation. The staff was most helpful. I wanted to arrange for a taxi to bring me to the trail head and told the desk clerk just that, and he (his name is Mike), instead offered to drive us to the trail head and take our rental car back to the resort where it would be safer. (No one recommends leaving cars at Ke'e beach as the cars are often broken in to). I was alittle hesitant as I usually wouldnt trust a stranger with a rental vehicle. The arrangement we made was that Mike would drop us off at the trail, take the car back to the resort and I would call him direct on his personal cell phone a couple days later to be picked up. After we finished the brutal hike and returned 2 days later, I called Mike who promptly returned with our car to pick us up. Mike brought us the best dried fruits I have ever tasted! He picks the fruit and dehydrates them at his home! Mahalo Mike for the great service and the fruit! I definitely would recommend this place simply on the experience alone, from Mike.

Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 35Amazing View, Great Hotel
My husband and I stayed here in mid-August and loved it! The view of the sun setting over Hanalei Bay from the bar/restaurant was a highlight of our trip. There isn't a fine dining restaurant, but the bar/restaurant has beverages and apps and main courses. The room was spacious, clean, and the bed was comfortable. The property is next door to the St Regis Princeville (need I say more)?!?!?! The drive into Hanalei Bay is less then 5 minutes, with numerous options for shopping and dining. The pool area is fabulous. The only negative is theat the ocean is not good for swimming as the reef comes right up to the sand on the beach. However, the drive to Hanalei Bay is close, and there are other beautiful beaches on the island to explore. A GREAT value for the money!

I wasn't impressed with Celebrity Resorts considering where they're located, the price per nice & the style of accomadations. This property is located in the affluent area of Princeville, in addition, this property is also part owner occupied (condominiums), timeshares and per basis rentals. All of those factors considered, I expected a facility that was better maintained. This does not mean that it was in terrible shape however, I truly expected better. We frequent Kauai yearly and make it a point to stay at different parts of the island, we've stayed in smaller facilities and other 'chain' hotels and had a much better review of the facility and accomdations. While this resort has many amenities, it does not have some of the basics such as food/dining. This is important considering how far away you are from 'major' communities on the island. Please keep in mind that Kauai is one of the most beautiful and laid back islands in the world... so even though I will not stay at or buy into this specific facility - we were still in paradise!

Trip Type: Romance Review 5 of 35Beautiful Grounds
My husband stayed recently at this hotel and we got the room with the king sized bed. It was just a basic hotel room, the bed was a bit uncomfortable. Overall it was very clean and the staff was friendly. The pool and tennis courts were kept up nicely, and this was one of the few hotels on the North Shore of Kauai that had direct access to a beach. We had great views of the mountains from our balcony and if you sit at the pool the sunset is beautiful over the ocean. If you want an inexpensive place to stay on the North Shore, and plan to spend more time out of your room then in it, then we would definitely recommend this hotel.

bring your own towels there is a charge for daily towels of $10.00 (if you request), be neat in your room they do not offer daily cleaning, unless you pay extra fee. The pool and hot tub are to die for and the grounds are kept beautiful. P.S The restaurant and bar are closed!!!yes you read right CLOSED !!! Good thing they have rooms with kitchen's and all utensils and a dishwasher so it works just well. You will have a lovely stay with home like feeling. Good luck finding resort it's a bit tricky but worth figuring out ..

Trip Type: Romance Review 8 of 35Great view - great location.
Hotel rooms aren't top tier by any means, but for being the lowest cost option we could find, we were very suprised at what we got. Short walk to the beach thru the resort, 6 tennis courts, very nice pool/spa area, friendly staff. Would stay again here rather than high priced hotels.

Trip Type: Family Review 10 of 35Great Location
Princeville is a wonderful location. Lots to do, or just lay back and do nothing. The Location of the hotel is perfect. Views of the ocean and the mountains. The actual rooms are nothing great, just basic hotel rooms. The pool and recreation areas are good. Basic rooms at a great location. Go out and enjoy the island.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 11 of 35A Disappointment
For the amount we paid for this room, we would at least have expected an ice bucket, bed pillows that were not flat, bed sheets and mattress pad that fit the bed and a TV remote that worked. The resort is primarily a time share (maybe those rooms were nicer), was in an isolated area and no place on the premises for food (the restaurant was closed for renovations). After arriving late in nasty, rainy weather, we did not want to venture out again. Had we known there was no restaurant, we would have eaten beforehand.

Excellent service, staff very helpful and friendly. Location was awesome, hike the trail to the beach, well worth it! Studio was okay, lots of room with convenient stove we cooked on that saved us some $$ due to the high prices in this area.. Bed was a (pullout) and wasnt that comfortable, which is probally the only complaint i have. Must go in the pool, the best part about this hotel;waterfalls, caves, hot tub, etc. All in all, well worth the money saved (we paid about $100 a nite) and would return in the future..

For $3 you can get the Honolulu Advertiser and their restaurant is not open until November, so not only is this a remote resort, but there isn't a shuttle to at least get you to the next restaurant. Also, just as a side note their ATM and payphone are broken. There is absolutely no chicken or rooster control, since I was not able to sit in my patio area since they would start swarming my area. I do not recommend this hotel and if you have AT&T you won't have service either. Also please note the fine print all studio rooms come with only a sofa bed.

Trip Type: Family Review 15 of 35Nice place to stay
The hotel and the surrounding area is very beautiful. Loved the pool and the path to the beach. Our room was very comfortable, although some noise from the neighbors can be heard. The restaurant was closed (we already knew that when we bought our tickets) it is somewhat inconvenient, since there is not many places nearby to have breakfast. There is some food at the bar at dinner time though.
