Trip Type: Rest and Recreation Review 2 of 7Incredibly relaxing site
I have been to Ceiba del Mar before and loved it. This time I splurged on one of the penthouse suites with a pool (a great deal on Hotels. com) and it was fantastic. The only reason to leave the room was to go to the spa or visit the great swim up bar in the main swimming pool. The staff at Ceiba are wonderful and help make it a great desitination.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 3 of 7Fantsastico!
At your beck and call always. Peaceful. Close to everything. But far enough away to not feel like you are in one of those "Big" resorts. Spa treatments superb. Hotel Menu pretty pricey. Breakfast at Hotel $40; Breakfast at nearby Puerto Morelos (30 minute walk down beach) $15. Did not have a bad meal anywhere. Bicycle rental free. Can rent a car in Puerto Morelos for $60 a day.

Trip Type: Romance Review 4 of 7An Outstanding Hotel
My husband and I spent eight nights at Ceiba del Mar Spa Resort and both agree that it is one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed at! Everything was delightful! The staff was outstanding everywhere you went in the hotel and at all hours of the day. The hotel offered everything you would need for a relaxing vacation, great spa services and yoga with a wonderful staff, great restuarants with the best staff you could ask for, great pool and ocean front services with wonderful staff and bar,the grounds were kept perfectly groomed everywhere you went, great dive shop with wonderful instuctors, the room was cleaned so nicely everyday, the butler service in the evenings were great with a wonderful staff, the hotel gift shop was so nice with wonderful people working there. There was not a thing that made us unhappy, we will be going back next year to enjoy another week in Mexico. One other plus to our trip was how close we were to the town of Puerto Morelas to enjoy real Mexico!

Trip Type: Romance Review 5 of 7Wow
My husband and I came here after 5 days in Cancun for a business function at the JW Marriott...The Marriott was very nice, but this place was nirvana! We were very fortunate to get a room upgrade to a suite, so we participated in a sunset yoga class at the end of the pier while we waited. The instructor was very knowledgeable, it was a great way to decompress after the hustle bustle of Cancun. Our room could not have been better. We had the corner suite at the end of the building, a hammock and table with chairs on the balcony and a double futon next to our private jacuzzi on the lower deck. We were right on the beach, which was what you expect from this part of the Yucatan, white sugary sand that stays nice & cool even during the heat of the day, refreshing water in all colors of clear blue and green. The resort has palapa huts on the beach, wooden beach chairs with pads and towels for your use. There was never a problem getting a chair in the sun or shade. The grounds and the hotel were very well maintained, we often saw employees clearing trash that had blown on the beach, gardening and otherwise keeping the resort beautiful. Every staff member we encountered was kind and considerate. We ate in the restaurant on the beach for lunch & dinner, all of our meals were very good, if a little pricey. Though, the prices were lower than at the Marriott. We didn't have any spa services, but we used the spa to refresh after we checked out of our room, our shuttle to the airport wasn't until later in the afternoon. Everything was very clean and in good repair, again, the staff was very kind. We loved the coffee service in the AM slid through a pass through into a shelf in the closet, waiting for you whenever you decided it was time. We greatly enjoyed the huge fresh fruit plate that was in our room when we arrived, it had mangos, apples, oranges, grapes, baby bananas, guavas and strawberries, everything was rip, delicious and ready to eat. Trip Type: Romance Review 6 of 7Perfect Getaway
We stayed for just 3 days, but it was bliss. Our room was a master suite (after they upgraded us), which was way more space than we needed, but it was nice to have. I am picky about beds and linens, and I was VERY pleased with the quality and comfort. My husband liked the huge flat-screen TV. The bathrooms were well-stocked with toiletries, a hair dryer, a make-up mirror, robes, slippers, and huge towels. The staff was very friendly and attentive, and they made sure our every need was met. They even opened up the sushi bar one night, just for us. The property is secluded, and it's a 15-minute walk down the beach before you reach the "town." If you're looking for nightlife, this is not the place. We spent most of our time reading on the beach, where they offer food, drink, and towel service. We used the free kayak equipment once, too. The water was a little rocky and the sea grass was thick in places, but I saw people swimming so it can't be too bad. The beach was combed clean every morning. The spa is beautiful. It's so small that they don't even give you a tour. My treatments were fine; nothing spectacular. The food was good, but like all resorts, expensive (I had a $10 waffle). The morning coffee/rolls service was wonderful. It's not enough to get you through to lunch, but what a great way to start the day. More resorts should offer this. We would love to go back.

Trip Type: Romance Review 7 of 7Paradise in Mexico
Ceiba Del Mar provided a wonderful experience for our vacation in Mexico. We have stayed in 5 different locations in Mexico over the past 15 years, and the stay at Ceiba Del Mar equals our best. It is important to note that this resort is geared for the quiet, peaceful vacation. There is NO nightlife, not even the typical resort "happy hours" etc. Even the nearby fishing village, Puerto Morelos, though quite clean and prosperous, offers only the fun of local restaurants and ocean sports for entertainment. The only negative at the resort is relatively high prices at the bars and restaurants. We went into town for most of our meals.
