Great Location! Outstanding hotel!

We were attending a concert at the Georgia Dome. The walk to the concert was quick and easy and the walk back was jsut as easy (Although up hill this time) the morning was filled with sun and the smell of fresh baking bread. The store accross the street is the outlet for the bakery great selection and prices. The next day we walked to the Coke Cola museum and the Atlanta Aquarium both are well worth the time. we did have a small problem in that the third floor is smoking and our room did smell like a wet ashtray, however the staff was apologeticand up graded us to a perfect suite !Thank You Cynthia. We are planning on staying there on our next trip to Atlanta and telling all our friends!

Best room for money and location

We stayed that the Castleberry Inn & Suites(art district) for seven nights. It was a perfect location to the metro, which took us directly to the train station, downtown (6 minutes drive). We rode the trains and metro, daily. Park the car and meet the locals. There were great eclectic restaurants, within walking distance or the hotel. The rooms were clean and the staff was extremely efficient and effective. I highly recommend this quiet and great spot.

Not what it looks like online

My hotel room did not look ANYTHING like it did online. They said they offered rooms with views of the city, but it was more like views of the rundown part of town. Also, their "art" courtyard and all is pretty pathetic. There was nothing that would even hint at the hotel being "artistic" if it weren't in its name. Overall, the room was ok, it was clean and the bathroom was spacious. But it was nothing as advertised, and it shouldn't be any more expensive or sought after than a motel 6 or something like that.

Not bad

The hotel was under construction, which no one informed me on. There were workers every where, along with the noise that comes along with people demoing rooms. The view from my room was the back of a house that had junk all over the back yard plus an extra car on blocks, just in case.

Quality Hotel, a little over priced

Big room, nice TV, but only 1 trash can in the whole room. No restaurant, no room service, neighbors a semi bad area. Overall 6.5 out of 10

Castleberry Inn

The hotel itself is great, and the staff very friendly and helpful. The room was very nice and large, with plenty of storage space, etc. Just the neighborhood was in a high-crime area. I did not experience any problems with robbers or any other street crimes, but I could tell this was a problem since when I went to the two local grocery stores, there was armored plated glass at the cashiers areas. Also there were unsavory types hainging out in front of each of the two stores.This was a cue to me to not be out after dark except if I was in a taxi.

Good Hotel, Bad Neighborhood

Overall, I had a nice room and the hotel was comfortable. The only problem I had with it was that it was not in a good neighborhood. I was told by other people who lived in Atlanta and several cab drivers not to leave my hotel at night, even to go across the street to get food because it was not safe. This made me slightly uneasy, but I never walked around at night and if I had to leave the hotel I called a cab. Room was bigger than I expected, although I believe I may have been given a suite. For the price, it was a nice hotel, minus the possiblity of getting mugged at night.

Needs improvement

The hotel was great from a covience perspective but it is under construction and several things just didn't work in my room. The water came on in the shower but the shower didn't work. The tv did not work and when they fixed it the remote in th eroom did not match or work.

Horrendous Hotel

I booked this hotel because it was close to the Georgia Dome. I paid for a king deluxe suite and I ended up in a closet sized room with a double bed. My room wasn't cleaned. The sheets were on backwards and the bed was not completely made. The shower did not work. There was no phone, no iron, no remote, etc... The website shows down comforters and flat screen tvs...however, the rooms are disgusting and have tiny tvs strapped to the wall. DON'T STAY HERE.

Needs Improvement

Room dirty. Smell in room. We did not stay there, we left and went to another motel.

Not what I expected...

I have to say that for the first time using Hotels.com I was disappointed. The hotel was rundown, the rooms were very spartan, smelled moldy and the air conditioner made horrible racket all night long. I actually went out, bought Lysol spray and literally disinfected everything in site...including the sheets. The television was so small that it was difficult to see from the bed, which is the only place to sit other than one very uncomfortable desk chair. The room offers very little in the way of light, and was hard on the eyes when trying to read. The main reason for concern was that the hotel was in a very bad section of town. Homeless people littered the sidewalks, questionable groups loitered in the parking lot and the neighboring buildings were covered in gang-style graffiti. My husband, who is a police officer, only felt comfortable entering and leaving the facilities with his badge and firearm on his side! A local police officer we chatted with told us to find another place to stay in a safer part of town. Sadly, with a large convention in town, plus the opening weekend of SEC football, there weren't any other hotels with vacancies...other than the one we were staying in. All in all, I will never stay at another Castleberry Inn & Suites and strongly suggest that others don't as well.
