Trip Type: With Friends Review 1 of 204Security Deposit
After paying for my stay, I still had a $ 100.00 additional hold on my account after checking out for a "security deposit" which was not removed until the end of the day after calling the hotel repeatedly. Seems they can charge your account right away, but a release of a hold takes until whenever..............

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 2 of 204Great room for the money
The room was clean and the staff is friendly. The hotel needs updated but the location is great and the price is great. If you are just looking for a place to hang your hat at night this is the hotel.

Trip Type: Business Review 3 of 204Very Good for the Money...
Very Good for the money... It is a older hotel... Location was very good for a seminar across the street at the Waikiki Marriot. The Ocean Resort was 1/3 the price of the Marriot. Alright. Its a good place to rest and relax... with some of the old charm of Hawaii in the 70's. I would stay there again. Wesley from Mililani, HI.

Trip Type: Family Review 4 of 204Good Value
The hotel was adequate for our needs. Our room was supposed to have a stove, but did not. None of the soda machines worked, but there were plenty of functioning ice machines. The hookers outside on the street made for some interesting atmosphere. Short walk to the beach so the location was convienent. Showers were pleasantly consistant with temperature.

Trip Type: Romance Review 6 of 204Great Price and Location
Good location and a comfy place to stay just two blocks away from the beach. Considering that we spent almost all the time outside and required only a few hours in the room. it's a great bargain. The reception and the staff at the bell desk were good. The man who organizes tours (the one that sat at the tour desk in the evening) was a bit condescending because we were enquiring about cheaper tours, and could be a little nicer.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 8 of 204cheap stay
The hotel was really old and the elevator was SOOO slow. It is a fine hotel for people that just need somewhere to crash, but it is not really pleasant to hang out in the room. However, the location of the hotel is fabulous, it is close enough to walk to the beach and many shops and is a short driving distance to the harbor for all the fishing and parasailing activities.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 9 of 204Great for the money
I thought the hotel was great for the price we paid. The location is great right by the Waikiki strip that leads to great bars and restraunts. Rooms were clean and staff was friendly and polite. My only complaint would be there is no cold water for brushing my teeth or washing my face it was extrememly hot water only.

Trip Type: Romance Review 11 of 204Decent hotel for the price
The hotel is decent. It was clean but the decore was vintage late 80s, early 90s. The location is a block from the beach, nice but too far from the clubs on kuhio. If your there to party avoid this hotel. If you are there for a little romance you might want to avoid it too as there is no gurantee that you will get a single bed, even if you called ahead to ask for one. If you don't get the queen size, you'll get two small twin beds, lame! I recommend this hotel because of the price, if you want something nicer, be prepared to pay double.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 12 of 204Hotel Castle Ocean Resort Hotel Wikiki
Hotel has a very good locatiion. It is close to Wikiki Beach and to the bus station (just about 3 min. walking). The room is very simple: just a bed, little table with two chairs and tv with programs on purchase. Refrigerator which is located in the bathroom(?) is very small. There is no coffee maker in the room. For the price we paid (50% less summer sales) it was ok but for the full price I would never booked that hotel again. When we arrived to hotel for registeration they asked us to give them credit card for copying, they said it was insurance just in case if something would be missing after our departure. It sounded as if they did not trust to customers. We felt confused and not welcomed. I have stayed in many different hotels and this was the first that asked the thing like that. In overal the stay was good.

Ridiculous that you have to pay to use an iron.

Trip Type: Romance Review 15 of 204pretty decent!
I live in hawaii and getting a hotel thats a block from the main waikiki strip was worth trading in for the 5 star resort! The room has the comforts that you need but nothing fancy! but who cares cause your not staying in your room most of the day!
