Disappointing

I stayed for at Castle Ocean Resort for almost the entire month of August 2009. It was very disappointing. The furnishings, including rugs, drapes and trash receptacles near the elevators, were very shabby. The air conditioning did not seem to stay at a constant temperature, my television remote did not work, and after it was replaced, the television was faulty. In my kitchenette unit, the kithen sink had obviously been leaking for an extended period under the cabinet by the time I reported it. My kitchenette included one free regular coffee filter and one free decaf coffee filter upon check-in, but that was the extent of the complimentary items. But the worst of all, on the morning of our originally scheduled check-out, we were made to feel by one young woman at the front desk that we were being evicted. (The older woman at the front desk, Lynn, was consistently helpful, however.) For the length of time that we stayed in the hotel, I thought we were treated poorly, and I would not recommend this hotel to others.

Very Happy!

We came here with 10 family members (5 rooms) for 2 weeks to get married at Magic Island Park. We all got ocean view rooms with balcony's for 70 bucks night. I'm in a wheelchair paralyzed from the neck down (C3-4) and found the acomodations good. Of course no wheelchair accessible shower (but no hotel does). The only complaints is the a/c units are kinda loud and water temp and pressure are not ideal. We slept fine every night. Absolutely the best location to be at- next to huge park, zoo, beach, shops, free movies & concerts on the beach every Sunday. Nice views! We stayed in room 1415 and family stayed in 1220, 1419, 1401. The 1401 has a wrap-around balcony with city & oceanview with 2 double beds for "city view" price. Left laptop, cameras and wallets in rooms with no worries. Staff is friendly too. If u get oceanview rooms get it on at least the 12th floor beach the few hotel in front will block the view more. Hope this helps lot of people. Blessings.

Basic hotel

WE GOT THIS HOTEL BECAUSE IT WAS ECONOMICAL. WE ONLY NEEDED A BED, WHICH WAS GOOD. WE GOT CHARGED $15 A NITE FOR PARKING OUR CAR, I WAS NOT HAPPY.

Spacious, clean room for the money

Room is relatively spacious, more than adequate for a single traveller. Convenient location and parking facilities available in and out of the property. Only negative side was there was no coffee available in and out of the room for an early departure.

Better than expected

I paid little so expected little, but was surprised by what I got. The bead was not comfortable, and since I paid for the cheapest room I got a view of the run down studio apartments next door. But it is sooo close to EVERYTHING to do in Honolulu. It is minutes from the ocean and you can see it from the front of the hotel. Everything is Honolulu is more expensive than in the mainland so I was excited at the value I got. The people were nice and helpful as well. The 2 pools were small, but who needs a pool when the ocean is next door?!

Not a decent hotel

This hotel needs some improvememt, carpet is old, paint is peeling off from wall. slow drain in bathtub, faucet did not function properly, you get hot water even you die not turn it on.
