Trip Type: Romance Review 1 of 2Amazing views!
This hotel is right on the beach with manicured green grass lawns and a beautiful mosaic pool in bright blue.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 2 of 2Calling it "oceanfront" doesn't make it so
I had enough hotel points for my entire trip to Kauai, but with points I couldn't guarantee what kind of view I would have. Therefore, I chose to pay for an oceanfront condo for part of my visit. I was extremely disappointed upon my arrival to see that my condo was poolfront: there was a pool with a black metal fence around it, with garbage cans and grills at one end. I could only see a small sliver of ocean from my unit and no beach at all. I voiced my unhappiness with 4 different employees and two of them acknowledged that they "may have to change the description" for future bookings. But it was only with further pushing on the day I checked out that I was able to get money back for the difference between oceanfront and oceanview (and calling it oceanview was pushing it). I was told I couldn't be reimbursed more because they only have "oceanview" and "oceanfront" - never mind if the descriptions aren't accurate, they seem to think that whatever label they put on a unit makes it become reality. During my dealings with Castle staff, the woman who was in charge had the worst approach to "customer service." There was no a/c in the unit, which was fine, but there were two sliding glass doors and I wanted to open both for airflow. One of them faced a garden and there was a sign that the door was for "viewing and ventilation" but please stay out of the garden. The door wouldn't open and I called to see if someone could get it un-jammed. I was told "it's not a door, it's a picture window." It WAS a door, complete with locks, a screen door, etc Finally a different employee explained to me that the owner had the door sealed shut - why the woman in charge didn't know this or couldn't have simply said that, I don't know. During this same conversation I stated that the view was not what I had paid for. I was told that they did not have any other units and I was welcome to check out and find another place to stay. This was at 5 PM my first day on the island - not quite the Alo
