    If you are used to "roughing it" then Casa De La Condesa will be an oasis. It is a good value for the money. It is safe, relatively clean- but in a simple way. There are no frills at all Negatives: 1. Staff does not speak English. Some speak a little bit, but if you do not speak ANY Spanish, then don't bother with this hotel. At any given point, there is one English speaker on staff who may have one or two shifts per week- so you may see him/her once, in which case you should ask ALL the questions you will have for your whole stay there. 2. If you are a traveler that needs concierge service, don't bother staying here. The person at the desk will tell you what they know from personal experience, but it's not very organized. You may get lucky with a chatty, knowledgeable person, but if you have a travel guide, then it doesn't really matter. 3. Beds are ROCK hard- not for Americans and Europeans used to soft mattresses. We tried 3 different rooms and all mattresses were the same. 4. Maintenance staff is not professional by American standards because things kept breaking in our room. You have to be persistent with them to get them to fix it for you. 5. We ended up having to change rooms TWICE in the one week we stayed there because of essential things not working in our room. That was a huge pain. POSITIVES: 1. I LOVED having a fridge and microwave in my room. very helpful. 2. The suites are very comfortable, especially for longer stays with dining table and sofa. They have decorated the suites nicely as well and they have a very charming feel. beautiful view of the water fountain in the square for half the rooms. 3. Staff is friendly and helpful IF you can communicate in Spanish. 4. Staff is not intrusive and leaves you alone. I enjoyed that. 5. About a 15 minute walk to the two nearest subway stops. 6. Nice suburban feeling neighborhood, but only two blocks away from a main street- Alvaro Obregon- which is great because you have access to the city fun without the cit
