This was a pretty good hotel for the money, considering the prices charged in Cusco. The free breakfast was great and started at 5am, which is important if you are setting off early to catch a train/taxi. They had a very reliable taxi service, so when you asked for a cab at 6:40, it was there at 6:35 without fail. They didn't miss any wake-up calls, although one came a little early, and they have a free, safe bag check while you take off for overnight trips to hike the trail or to stay in the Valley or at Aguas Calientes. The suites are definitely nicer than the regular rooms, but all are clean and comfy, and it's nice that they actually have queen or king beds rather the standard doubles/twins you find all over in Peru. Reliable hot water. It's little noisy as you are pretty close to the Plaza, but you book the hotel for the convenient location and it wasn't unexpected. The only real criticism was that certain members of the staff weren't quite as customer service oriented as I'm accustomed to, so I sometimes felt unsure whether my requests were going to be met. They always were, so it was unnecessary to worry, but be aware that the staff may not be as effusive as one finds in other hotels. For example, they didn't bother to tell us when breakfast was, they never offered any assistance in finding places to eat, a map of the town, where to go to buy tickets, etc. They would answer our questions, but sometimes we had to wait while they talked on the phone and sometimes it seemed like our questions were bothering them. All in all, though, because everything was taken care of in an efficient manner and everything else was good, I would probably recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a central location near the Plaza in Cusco.

This is a an OK hotel in a great location. The key is making sure they give you the room you pay for. Upon arrival, the hotel staff tried to move us to another hotel down the street. Only after a significant battle, were we given the room we had already paid for. After traveling for most of a day, it was a bad way to start a vacation.
