Trip Type: Family Review 1 of 26Small Beds but Hotel Location is Great
I booked a 2 bedroom suite with a queen in one and two double in another with a pullout in the living area. When I check in, the front desk told me they did not have the 2 BR suite and instead they gave me a 1 BR with a double and pullout and another 1 BR with only 1 double for the same price. We have 5 in our party, the beds are just too small to sleep two people. Other than that the rooms are very well equipped and clean but not spacious. There is no view to speak off from the balcony. Both rooms have full kitchen and we cooked breakfast in our room. What I like most is the location, 10 minutes walk to the Parliment. We walked back and forth from from our hotel and the Canada celebration a few times. There are also many restaurants near the hotels. The neighborhood is busy but quiet. Anyway, beware of hidden charges. The hotel charges $18/day for parking and $10/day for internet (plus GST). I would stay there again though.

Trip Type: Family Review 5 of 26Pretty good deal
This is an older hotel, and not as fancy, but very well kept, well lit, clean, great neighborhood, close to great restaurants and lots of sights. The staff was so helpful with recommendations and directions! The kitchenette is definitely a bonus. This was our second stay at this hotel.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 6 of 26Good for the money
A little difficult to find. Staff was outstanding. They printed off a map to wherever we needed. Parking is 18 dollars a day but worth it if traveling with small children. Elevator from parking lot took you right to your hotel floor. I will stay here again.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 8 of 26Unbeatable Location
This hotel was one nice surprise after another. The official check-in time was 4:00 pm, but our room was ready *six hours* earlier than that. We were just expecting a room, but it was actually *two* rooms (which is why the hotel has the word "Suite" in its name). Our request for a quiet room was honored--they placed us way at the end of the hall. You can't beat the location--ten minutes by foot to the National Arts Centre, the Parliament buildings, and the Ottawa Information Center; 20 minutes to Rideau Centre and the Byward Market area. The immediate neighborhood is full of shops and restaurants, some open 24 hours, and several city bus lines stop within one or two blocks--an important convenience in cold, snowy Ottawa in the winter!

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 10 of 26Very good but parking and breakfast are not included
Perfect for the price. Great hotel. The only negative point is that I had to pay additional fees for parking and breakfast despite that it was not specify on the Website.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 11 of 26convenient and adequate
Older but well maintained; convenient to all downtown Ottawa facilities. Has underground parking - a nice feature but at an added price.

Trip Type: Family Review 12 of 26Great location.
I've spent just one night in this hotel. Don't forget - they charge for parking $17 per day. Suite looks like one-bedroom apartment: there is kitchen, living room and bed-room. TV is in living-room instead of bed-room (I personally didn't like it), plus TV-set is pretty old fashion (not flat-screen). Also, you'll have to pay for Internet service - 3-day for $9.95, month - $29.95. There is balcony and refrigerator in every suite, which is really nice. Hotel is located in area very close to main attractions - Parliament, Down-town, etc. Over all, I am pretty satisfied with service (if not that parking and internet extra charge).

Trip Type: Family Review 15 of 26Outstanding Hotel
The Cartier was an outstanding hotel. This was our first trip to Ottawa and it was conveniently located downtown. Everything was within walking distance. We had a 2 bedroom suite that made it a home away from home. They do charge $17 a day for parking; we knew that going into it and even if you include that I still consider that Cartier well worth the money. I would defnintely stay there again next time I am in Ottawa.
