Trip Type: With Friends Review 2 of 34Great Hotel, despite the room
Overall I truly enjoyed my stay at captains quarters resort, the atmosphere was great an the amenities were also. The only things that i thought could have been better are the mattress quality, room furniture, and bathroom amenities.

The staff at the front desk was accommodating after I complained about the first room we were given. The side of the refridge had food on it. Carpeting was dirty and lamps were missing light bulbs or did not work. We were moved to another room that was somewhat better but the capeting needs to be cleaned and there were small ants on the patio and we were on the seventh floor. Overall rooms need to be updated.

Trip Type: Family Review 4 of 34Great room for the money
The hotel room was a little dated but clean. The hotel location was great-literally right on the beach. And the pools were very nice. For the money we paid, overall it was fantastic. Nothing beats waking up to see the ocean waves crashing right outside the hotel.

Trip Type: With Friends Review 5 of 34Horrible Hotel
When I booked the Hotel I was looking for something comftorble and clean. Since I was staying at Myrtle Beach I assumed it would be. When I got into the room I saw that it was very out of date. There were a lot of things that needed to be fixed. For example: The door leading to the outside balcony was really hard to open, the bed creaked, the tv controller died within the 2nd night. Then I walked into the bathroom and found that the bathtub was really small. The metal pieces that go behind the knobs to turn the water on in the tub were loose and there was no real water pressure. Also, I stayed for 3 nights and the room was cleaned once! Overall, I did not enjoy my stay.

Trip Type: Family Review 6 of 34CHECK IN
Computers were down when checking. When I finally received room key and went to the room, I found people already in room. Had to take all of my luggage back down to front desk and get a new room assignment. Once I actually got into a room it was fine.

Trip Type: Romance Review 7 of 34Not bad for the price
Excellent oceanfront view! The bed was extremely hard. The bathroom sink was badly scratched and stained. Light just inside the room was filled with dead bugs. Saw two large roaches while we were there. Long line to wait to register when we first arrived. Staff was fairly nice. Overall this is a no-frills hotel, but if you are looking for a place to stay at a great price where you won't be staying inside very much, this is the place to be.

The room was a little out dated but it looked like they were do some remodeling. This was our first stay and we will book again next year.

Trip Type: Family Review 9 of 34Great room and location for the money.
Better than some of the others that I stayed at. There was a small problem with water coming from ceiling in the bathroom. Maintenence never showed up. Elevators were slow.

Trip Type: Romance Review 10 of 34Nice Hotel
We had a really good experience. The hotel was clean, and the pools were a great relief from the hot weather. The hotel is starting to show its age, but is all in all well kept up. The cleaning staff was very friendly, but the other staff was just ok. I would definetly stay here again. Nice hotel for the money.

Trip Type: Romance Review 12 of 34Very nice resort, rooms could stand updates, especially beds!
We arrived June 22, the exterior and lobby of the hotel are absolutely gorgeous! I'm totally patting myself on the back for what a deal I got on hotels.com for a hotel this nice! Well, there was a tiny mixup at first about our departure date, we reserved thru the 26th, but, the hotel had us through the 25th, no worries, and it was resolved smoothly, no hassles. Definite thumbs up to the staff, our room was nice and clean, and they fixed the deal about the departure date, with no muss and no fuss, and we'd had issues with the key cards which were fixed efficiently as well. However, I will say this, these rooms are not huge, which is not a big deal with just two people, but, when the bathroom is so small you have to do contortions to close the door to sit on the commode, well, it's a tad inconvenient. Not to mention, the bed we had in our room felt like a sheet of plyboard over some bricks! We'd probably stay here again, but, I'd definitely see if they'd upgraded the bedding first. The location is good, right on the beach, which is where we spent most of our time, and, they have indoor and outdoor pools, and an indoor lazy river, and a bowling alley, which looked nice, but, we didn't use this, as we spent our time out on the beach, mostly.

Trip Type: Family Review 13 of 34Good room for the money
Hotel design was nice for the money. The hotel is in need of some upgrades. The room was a little tired looking. The location was good.

Trip Type: Family Review 14 of 34Great for families, would stay again.
My only complaint is that the onsite restaurant is only open for breakfast and there were not too many options in walking distance. We had a car for our trip but were too tired to go back out, and didnt want to give up our parking spot. For a future stay I would stop and pick up groceries,(our room had a full kitchen)before checking in. The bowling alley offers 5-snacks, that is about it, and they were out of 2 of them. This is a great place to stay if you have kids and I would stay there again.

Paid for an ocean view room, but I would call it ocean front. Full ocean view from 15th floor. The one bedroom suite is much better than a regular room when you have two kids. The way it was set up we could have our 9-month-old take a nap in the bedroom and our 2-year-old didn't have to stay extremely quiet because we had the living area separated by the kitchen. Stayed 8 nights and got a good rate. Would do it again.
