Candlewood Suites Tuscaloosa

Home base for football fans

A very comfortable home away from home for a 4-night stay surrounding an Alabama football game. We loved the convenience of the full kitchen. However, the queen studio suite would be ideal for a single traveler, more so than a couple, as there was one nightstand, one comfortable chair, a single-sided vanity, etc. The staff was very friendly and tried to be helpful. However, the evening before Game Day with a full crowd, it was not possible to get help with some TV problems -- no working cable service, DVD player not working. Disappointing, but not a reason not to stay again. As is done all over town, the rates go up astronomically for game weekends; you just have to accept it without feeling too ripped-off. Note, you cannot walk anywhere from the hotel unless you feel like sprinting across six lanes of traffic. Nevertheless, we had a really good time.

Great Hotel

Looking at the hotel upon arrival you may wonder. But once you enter it is beautiful. The rooms are exceptionally nice. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Excellent hotel

This is an outstanding hotel, the room was large and had all the amenities. The bed was very comfortable. The entire hotel was exceptionally clean, the staff friendly and efficient. Okay neighborhood, but felt very safe in the immediate area of the hotel. Overpriced, but was a football weekend, so I expected that. Would defientely stay again if the need arose.

Great Hotel

The hotel was located close to the interstate and really close to shopping and restaurants. It looked like it was fairly new and my wife and I loved the the full kitchens in the room. The staff was very friendly and Katie, the girl at the desk,

Great hotel, loved the suites.

This was our first stay at a Candlewood Suites and I was very happy we chose this hotel. The hotel was right of the inter-state and only a few minutes from the University. We come to Tuscaloosa every year, but this was the first time we chose to stay here. I think it just opened up recently. I loved that they had full kitchen in the rooms, and the rate was actually cheaper than the Hampton and the Marriot... Katie at the front desk was very friendly and pointed out a few great places to eat. All-in-all, Candlewood is going to be the only place I stay when we come to Tuscaloosa.
