Trip Type: Business Review 17 of 264A place to stay...
The service was pretty good. Had a couple problems with our rooms(shower drains), and they were quickly fixed. "Continental Breakfast", however, was just coffee and doughnuts, so plan to go somewhere for breakfast. Hotel was in a great location, but somewhat bad area. If you stay here, don't expect too much. Hotel is getting better with improvements, but still has a lot of work to go. Also, if you stay here, be sure to plan your activities around certain times. Make sure you stay in a group, get back to the hotel somewhat early for the night, and stay there until morning. Great for a place to stay if your only there for a night or two. Not a family hotel, or one to bring your wife or girlfriend to.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 18 of 264Don't Waste Money Remodeling This Place
Bad hotel in a bad place that was cheap due to remodeling. Nice staff fighting a losing battle with the location & surrounding neighborhood. They shouldn't waste money trying to remodel this dump-let it die & turn into another parking lot-the New Orleans hotel business won't miss it! Way too close to the elevated part of I-10 (my room was on the outside of the hotel on the third floor, at the same level of the highway), I spent twelve days & nights dealing with speeding cars, sirens and horns no more than 100 feet from my door. Too many people hanging around at all hours of the day & night throughout the hotel (turned out they had Katrina refugees still staying in the hotel-nearly four years after the storm!) The place has too many dark places and had a stale stench throughout it-even though they were remodeling it. It reminded you more of a bad government housing project than a hotel. Still I knew what to expect going in, so I wasn't that suprised about the place. Stay away-bad hotel choice!

Trip Type: With Friends Review 20 of 264Great room for the money
After reading some of the reviews I was skeptical on staying at this hotel. I was plesantly surprised. It was not the dump that I half expected it to be. Walking through the strange hallway to our room felt like a sauna with hot air blowing out at you, but the room was nice and cool. The tub drain blocked up, but they fixed it. The room was comfortable and clean. The area is a bit detached from the French Quarter. Even being two ladies staying by ourselves walking through the area to the Quarter was not too bad during the day, not too bad at night either; but we mostly opted to catch a trolley or 8 dollar cab ride to where we needed to be. I would stay there again, for the money I saved.

Trip Type: Business Review 21 of 264Needs "Exteme" Improvement
Lobby was full of borderline derelict looking people. Room stunk, A/C was leaking on carpet. Bathroom had mold, tub was missing parts, rust on windows, ceiling tiles stained and or wet with moisture, blankets had burn hole on them. Overall a terrible looking room -

Trip Type: Family Review 24 of 264Do Not book this hotel
This hotel was terrible. The room had broken drywall, old dirty carpet. screaming and hollering was heard all evening, police visited the hotel. Kids were hanging out in front blocking entrance at times. Pool was padlocked during the day. People hanging around in lobby were cursing and acting inapropriately. The last morning, before we left, there was a blood trail from the elevator to the front walk...who knows what happened. The desk clerk was not cleaning it up and allowing the poor behavior in the lobby. The room was well cooled and the maid did a great job with what she had to work with. I know the hotel is not in the best part of town but the Mgr should have more control of people hanging around. If they were the employees they should be fired.

Trip Type: Family Review 25 of 264Needs extreme improvement.
Some rooms are rented by the hour or month, depending on the floor. Guests are questionable. The lobbby was full of street people at night. No towels were available. The ice bucket had a knife hole in the bottom. The bathroom wall had a hole in it. It was an educational experience that I would not repeat.

Trip Type: Special Event Review 26 of 264IT WILL DO
This hotel will do for a duck off from friends and family. Belive me no one would even think of looking for you here. The down side is the night i checked in and went to park a lot of people was haning out on the stairs. I found some hanging out in the front, this give the hotel a unclear picture of trust.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 29 of 264What's expected for the money
The place was cheap and right inside the city so not much was expected. It was a little rundown and is right next to the interstate but it was just fine for a one night stay. If you're looking for comfort go somewhere else, but if you just need a place to crash then it works.
