Trip Type: Business Review 1 of 44Poor Quality Hotel
One of the worst hotels I've ever stayed. Old room and a lot of noise. The hotel staff is rude and with a bad attitude. NEVER STAY IN THIS HOTEL!!

Really wonderful hotel. Not the best location if you plan to do a lot of sightseeing around the city, but very comfortable if you are looking for a beautiful spot to relax (in a fabulous city!!).

Trip Type: Special Event Review 5 of 44Still one of the best
Camino Real Polanco is in easy walking distance of the Tamayo, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Museum of Anthropology, all in the part of Chapultepec closest to Av. Reforma with its easy access to the rest of the city. The pool is very nice; the restaurants are good, if occasionally pricey (watch out for a "cover" charge in Bistro Bici that is noted on the menu in tiny, tiny print). Wireless is good, but you must pay for the password, even in public areas. I also note that Camino Real not only survived the '85 earthquake unscathed; it also served as a refuge for travelers who lost their hotels. It is very safe, and security is very good.

We loved our hotel. The hotel was beautiful filled with beautiful art and beautiful surroundings. The rooms were comfortable and the staff was outstanding. We loved the food, especially at "Maria Bonita". Would return to this hotel in a heartbeat.

Trip Type: Romance Review 9 of 44Beautiful hotel in a great city
For the price, this was one of the nicest hotel rooms I've stayed in. The location isn't great--it is a 10-15 minute walk to the nearest metro station, which is the easist way to get around Mexico City. However, if you're looking to relax, the pool is very nice and the rooms are comfortable.

Trip Type: Business Review 13 of 44A modernist gem that needs some work
I stayed in this hotel because the location was good and because I'm a fan of the architect, who designed this hotel for the 1968 Olympic Games. The hotel is an architectural gem. The public areas are impressive, and the hotel's rooms are soothing and quiet. I had a club room facing the pool. It was nicely appointed, and was unusually large by contemporary standards, with a balcony facing the pool. The room needed more electrical outlets (I had to unplug the clock to charge my phone). Still, this is minor. The room was quiet and comfortable. Service was good (I had room service once - food quite good). The one thing lacking was decent internet access and this turned out to be a real problem. On my last day, I really wanted to laze around my room while I did a bit of work. The internet connection was so slow that I couldn't - I had to go into the office to read and respond to email. This was sad, because I genuinely liked the hotel and wanted to stay. If they can fix this (and not charge the extortionate rates for access), I will be a fan of this hotel again. It's an architectural gem, but it really needs a technological upgrade. I ate in the pan-Asian restaurant, which was good. The fitness center is also small, but very nice and faces the pool.

Trip Type: Family Review 14 of 44World class Luxury on a budget
Camino Real in Mexico City is a world class hotel. We stayed at the Club level which also included breakfast and happy hour. We got such a good rate on Hotels.com that we were able to reserve 3 rooms ensuring privacy for ourselves, my mother in law and our son. There is some amazing modern art in that hotel and itself is very well designed in the late 60s,very moderne with high end finishes such as marble and higly polished wood. Great pool, ok gym, good restaurants and great service. I will definitely go back to this hotel.

Trip Type: Family Review 15 of 44Comfortable Hotel
Although the hotel location is blocks away from the metro and a 10-minute walk to the business district, the area is quiet and comfortable as compared to hotels in the Plaza areas. The restaurants in the hotel are very expensive, so think twice before plunging to convenience. You pay half price if you walk a distance to the nearest local eatery. Taxis are convenient in the hotel, however, they charge you 250% to 300% more than the metered local taxis. The hotel looks trendy and modern but has signs of old age. Their gift shop has limited choices. Toiletries provided in the room are limited... Overall friendly staff, clean and comfortable hotel.
