Extremely bad service at restaurant, bar, and swimming pool area. They must loose lots of sales. The linens on the bed were dirty and comforter and blankets need to be replaced. They were filthy!!! Will never stay here again.

Trip Type: Romance Review 5 of 9Pool was very cold
Very nice hotel... great gardens, comfortable rooms. Improvements needed: heat the pool! I also didn't like the fact that you HAD TO use the valet parking service. I prefer to park myself

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 7 of 9A Gem of A Hotel in Guanajuato
My fiancee and I just returned from a magical week in the Guanajuato area. I am very familiar with this part of Mexico and had hoped to find a hotel with old world charm and modern amenities. We found the Camino Real to fill that description. The grounds are lovely and our room was appealing in every way. A historic castle loomed above the property and there are many remains on the premises from another era. We were able to use our wireless internet without paying an extra fee, which is always a plus. The staff was warm and accommodating in all situations. We enjoyed an extensive buffet at their restaurant for breakfast, which was well worth the price. The hotel's is location is a considerable walking distance from the center of town. This might be a negative for some people but there are taxi's available if you do not want to trek the distance. We chose to walk even at night. The uphill journey through more commercial areas might not be the safest choice. I speak Spanish and had to ask for directions when we became disoriented in the darkness. I would opt next time for a taxi at that hour.

Trip Type: Family Review 8 of 9noisy room
once again the first room they showed us was a "closet. I had booked 5 months in advance and expected better. We were shown to a second room and accepted that except we could not sleep due to the on and off noise on the roof from mechanical equipment all night. The second night we changed rooms and it was quiet but not the same great view of the city.

Trip Type: Business Review 9 of 9Very nice hotel
One of the best hotels in the city. Built into the historic area using some existing old construction. Nice way to see a very old and unique city. Staff was very nice, even with the language barrier.
