Trip Type: With Friends Review 1 of 12In Soviet Russia, nickle and dime owns you!
This hotel is in a great location and is fairly decent; however, they will nickle and dime you every chance they get. Stay at an American owned chain.

Trip Type: Romance Review 2 of 12Nickle, meet dime... in Soviet Russia, hotel own you!
I have never seen a hotel that nickle and dimes you to death over every little thing... and the prices are steep. Wifi, $20/day Pool, $15/visit The list goes on. The free breakfast was not all that great, on the last day, I had an awesome free breakfast at the airport lounge. The staff is not that friendly and their Engrish is sub par.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 4 of 12Aging budget hotel in central location, nothing special just basic.
The best thing this hotel has going for it is it's price relative to location which is pretty much in the center of Moscow, although it is located next to a high end strip joint called 911 men's club. The staff has the usual grumpy attitude that is pretty much standard in Russia, no one smiles here. The room itself is very basic with very old furniture and a bed that could definately use replacement, not very comfortable. The walls are super thin and you could easily hear the steps and conversations from people walking outside the halls and upstairs. The free included all you can eat breakfast is served in their dining room and has a decent selection of fruits, eggs, breads and cereals. I recommend this hotel to those on a budget that just want the basics, no frills in a great location.

Trip Type: Not Provided Review 5 of 12Perfect Location - Very Good Value for Money
Stayed at the Standard king bed room. Although hotel is old and some items would require renovation (e.g. I would not be surprised if TV in my room was 7 years old) this hotel is a very good place to stay. - everything is clean - good breakfast - very convenient location. 5 walking minutes to Teatralnaya station. 10 minutes to Red Square. A very large department store is located near the hotel - TSUM. However, you would find a very (I mean VERY) high prices in there. Shop somewhere else... If such place exists in Moscow. - room had very old windows - it might be loud during the day. But I did not have a chance to check it since I was always somewhere else during the day - Rates I paid were the same as hotels far away from the city center. So, considering location it was very good value for money.

Trip Type: Family Review 6 of 12Needs Improvement
The Hotel needs to change the carpet of the rooms. The beds are all old style spring beds and are badly maintained with loads of bed bugs... Excellent location

Trip Type: Business Review 10 of 12Excellent Hotel perfectly located
This hotel is an excellent choice for business travellers and tourists alike. Courteous staff, spacious rooms, great location, and a good deal when specials are offered. Also a good business center. The TV was a bit shaky, but otherwise good amenities. I would stay here again for sure.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 11 of 12Decent mid-range option for overpriced Moscow
If you are looking for a moderately priced hotel (by Moscow standards) located around the corner from Red Square, the Hotel Budapest will probably your minimum criteria. Rooms can be noisy, walls are poorly constructed, and staff do not seem to realize how thin the walls are as they run their trolleys at all hours of the night. WiFi is available in the rooms, and coffee with snacks are served in your room in the morning.
