Trip Type: Special Event Review 1 of 17Large one bedroom suite
The location is fantastic - 2 short blocks south of Central Park. The living room was enormous and very plush with sofabed, arm chairs, desk and nice dining room table; there was a small but very functional kitchen; and the bedroom with 2 queen size beds was roomy also. The bathroom was small but it was clean and nice. Incredibly cheap breakfast room service for $9.99! Front desk staff were for the most part very nice and helpful.

Trip Type: Business Review 2 of 17Nothin' Fancy
There isn't much to this hotel. It has character and is neat but the bed was very uncomfortable and there is no restaurant in it which is a drawback when traveling on business. They don't even have snacks to offer guests. I know it's NYC but......something would be nice. I wouldn't stay there again.

Trip Type: Romance Review 3 of 17I used my reward night, so I can't complain
I used my welcome rewards to stay at the Buckingham Hotel for free which was great because otherwise I couldn't afford a nice hotel like this. The location of the hotel was great... walking distance to Central Park, Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, Times Square, and the Jekyll and Hyde restaurant was right around the corner. The hotel itself was nice. The hallways were a little shabby but I might not have noticed it if there weren't PARDON OUR APPEARANCE signs all over the place. My room was nice, felt more like a comfy appt than a hotel room, which I loved. The bathroom was very small and unimpressive compared to the rest of the room. The heating/cooling unit in the bedroom only blew hot air and the window didn't open so we had no air at all... thank goodness is wasn't a hot night.

Trip Type: Family Review 4 of 17An ok hotel
The Sofa bad was pretty unconfortable and one night we had a cockroach in the kitchen. Otherwise it was ok - pretty worn and noisy (street trafick) though...

Trip Type: Family Review 5 of 17Great Location
Great location and great room. I was initially worried about room sizes in NY after reading other reviews, but when I found the Buckingham it sounded perfect. We were traveling with our 1.5yo and needed the extra room for him to sleep and play. The full sized fridge was great, as was the rest of the kitchen. Just around the corner North on 6th avenue was a little grocery/convenience store where we could get water and fruit and anything we needed. There were 2 Starbucks within 4min of the hotel as well as a Jamba Juice if you're into that. The room was always made up and the dishes were cleaned by the time we got back. Great service from the bellhop and front desk staff. They were able to accommodate us and get us an early check-in. I would definitely stay here again and have already recommended it to others.

Trip Type: Family Review 6 of 17Great staff/rooms a little run down
The staff and common areas were excellent. The room was huge but clearly old and a little dusty, not unsanitary. If it were less expensive I would stay there again. We have had better values.

Trip Type: Overnight Stay Review 7 of 17Great roomy room with kitchen facilities!
We were so pleased with our room and the cost! We hope to stay there again next time! There was a lot of room - especially for NYC! And the kitchenette was absolutely wonderful. The bathroom was also roomy and had lots of places to keep things. The only downside was the broken elevator on the morning we checked out. It took a long time to get to the lobby! Other than that, we loved our stay and will stay there again, God willing!

This is a great hotel for families since it features a separate living area (with fold-out sofa bed) and kitchenette.

Trip Type: Family Review 9 of 17Great NYC apartment style suite...
If you've ever been in an apartment in NYC, you'll appreciate the roominess and location of this room. Although the fixtures were a bit outdated and the space between the toilet and sink was tight, overall the room was HUGE by NYC standards. We had a full sized NYC kitchen which included all utensils, pots and pans, cleaning supplies, a full sized fridge, stove and microwave. Much larger (and cheaper) than your standard mid-town hotel rooms, convenient to Central Park and only a short 10 block walk to Times Square. I only wish we could have stayed longer to take full advantage of the room's features. Will DEFINITELY stay again.

Trip Type: Family Review 10 of 17I would go back
The room is in an excellent location. Within walking distance(a few blocks) from Times Square/downtown Manhattan. The room was small but clean. The front desk was very helpful and knew the city very well. The hotel has valet parking available in a parking garage around the corner from the hotel, but it is expensive which is one of my only complaints. If you are looking for a place to sleep & shower in NYC, this is a great place for the money.

Trip Type: Family Review 12 of 17Great Location, Large room
We were pleasently surprised staying at this 3 star hotel. I am a travel agent and am familier with the Affinity group knowing that they put take alot of pride in there property chain. The location was amazing in south central park. Knowing that it was a 3 star I wasnt expecting full service, but they arrainged for a car service and helped us with every need as if we were staying in a 5 star. I was a little concerned with being on the 5th floor, but it was very quite and couldnt here the street noise. The beds were your better beds, like the Westin or Marriott. The rooms were very large. we had 4 adults and 1 child in the one bedroom and we have plenty of room. All the rooms come with a kitchen..Very Clean..great for familys.

Trip Type: Business Review 14 of 17great hotel needs improvement
Wonderful location and very nice staff, but the room I had was somewhat run down, with closet doors lose and hard to close, the hairdresser no longer firmly attached in the bathroom, the phone's message button not working.
